Rx-8 1:18 scale die cast model
I knew about this for awhile, but forgot to post for you Rx-8 fanatics.
Auto Art makes a fantastic quality model, especially for the price.

Exotic in Whitby on Brock carries them, Mini Grid in Unionville as well. Looks like they have all the colours available. Should be anywhere from 70 - 80 bucks.

Yep, I have a couple of them on order.
Unfortunately none of the die cast shops I know carry them yet.
They're taking awhile to get their shipment from Autoart.
I just called the Mini Grid and they haven't received theirs yet either.
We'll have to wait a little while longer.....

Mine (an Auto Art model in Ti Grey) has just been shipped from the online place I bought it from. It should be here in a couple of days... waiting, just like I did for the real thing!
AutoArt models are fantastic...

Pete, you might be interested in this. I jokingly asked about putting a spoiler on the model. He went out and checked the car out and said it was possible. It's done by hand at the store, and the only challenge is matching the paint up, but he sees no problem with it. The biggest problem is the price as it would cost another $60. Ouch!!!!
He also said he does license plates. I have personalized plates, and he said he would do them for $20. Cooooool. He took pictures of the plates and the car. I'm picking it up the model when he's done the plates.

save yourself $20...
Hey guys...
For the licence plate, all you need is a good digital photo of your plate, a basic copy of photoshop, and some good photographic paper. I actually made this one in about 5 minutes from a pretty poor picture of my plate. I say you need photoshop because it seems to do the best job of reducing the picture to the required size (I made the length .7 inches...)
Like I said, I made this plate from a relatively poor photo, so I think if one put in a little more effort one could get an even better looking "mini plate" for their model. Also, I just stuck the thing on with scotch tape, so again, with a little more effort one could easily get better results than this.

73JPS,
You've got too much time on your hands! LOL :D
The quality of the model is really high. Almost as high if not the same quality as the Kyosho model of the FD.
Autoart really out done themselves with their latest models.....

Received mine today. Detail is awesome. The engine cover comes off and there is felt like material even on the underside of the trunk lid.
Pretty impressive, and Exotic in Whitby did a great job on the license plate. It is so detailed you could actually see mt expiration sticker.

The models look great!
I just picked up 4 for myself and a few friends.
The detail is fantastic. Equal if not better than the Kyosho model RX-7.
Really nice!

I got my Autoart Titanium Grey RX8 Today....I am planning on putting my plate on and painting the interior to the Real Black/Taupe colours as oppose the the straight black (as in the model)
The model is really high quality and its beside my scale model of my last car the 2000 BMW 3-Series.
