Rocker Panel Fix?

Hello,

So... As I was working on my car today, I was trying to jack my car up via the rocker panel, but in the process, the jack had gone through the rocker panel. Apparently it was so rusted underneath that it gave out on me, so now I can see the chassis underneath the rocker panel.

Does anyone have any suggestions or opinions? Can this be fixed? If so, is it by cutting and welding a sheet metal? What about the structural integrity afterwards?

Christopher

Yes you can cut a new piece of metal and weld it in place, though you'll need a pro to cut it to the right shape. Mazda sells the rocker panels too.

Thanks for your response! I will look into the Mazda part. I did not know Mazda sell the part separately. I will also look into the welding method, as I'm sure it will be much cheaper that way.

Cheers,

Christopher
