On The Road Again!
First day out on my 2007 road trip to Canmore Alberta----
900 miles,(Whitby to Menominee,Wisconsin),13.5 hrs,39.3 US gals gas,0.25 l of oil(approximately).This is the first time I have seen oil usage!
Car at maximum gross weight with 2 persons,luggage and stuff for offspring.
Rout via Sarnia/Port Huron,Flint,Battle Creek,Chicago(right thru the centre),and Rockport.
No problems todate.
Tomorrows schedule,about 800 miles (to Moose Jaw)

I grew up in Battle Creek! Good times....LOL
The Sarnia/Port Huron route is so much better than going through Windsor/Detroit. The roads around Detroit are filled with pot-holes.
Are you heading through South Dakota at all? When I was a kid we drove to Edmonton and went through the Badlands National Park (near Rapid City)....quite the scenery.

Day 2
Stopped in Weyburn,Saskatchewan after 700 miles and 33 USgals of fuel.Included Minneapolis,Fargo,Minot and back into Canada at Portal.This leaves about 470 miles for tomorrow.
Saw some heavy showers today and turned into a speedboat near Minot--the Dunlops were pretty good in the water.
Another odd thing--while filling up with gas in Fargo,a half dozen sparrows descended on the front of the car and started picking bugs off the front of the car!
Car is running well and no issues.

Stage 1 complete
Arrived in Canmore yesterday afternoon;590 miles and 26 US gals of fuel.
So overall,2190 miles,98.3 USgals,3/4 qt of oil and 32.5 hrs driiving time.
The next stage begins in about 12 days(depending on time to perform chores)---Canmore to Las Vegas .
