Question regarding Performance package rims

I got the Performance package for my RX when I bought it, and it came with the mazdaspeed rims. I was just wondering, was the dealer not suppose to also give me the stock rims aswell?

I would much rather have both mazdaspeed rims and the stock rims, because the stock rims also look nice, and another suggestion I had in mind was keep the stock rims on my winter tires for winter, and mazdaspeed rims on the tires during the summer times, so I can see both rims year-round.

Ya, there was a thread about this here a few months ago. Long thread short, yes you are entitled to both sets of wheels. It doesn't matter what excuse your dealer gives you when you call them.

Thanks. I am going in monday to get the stock rims, and put them on the winter tires.

Offtopic: what colour are your 8s? and do you have pictures of them? I would love to the see the Mazdaspeed rims from the performance package on other colours.

The mazdaspeeds that come with the package are 0.5" narrower than the stock rims. Yes it doesn't seem like much, but I'm picky.

I'm actually going to use the stocks in the summer, and the mazdaspeeds in the winter.

^^I would say sell the Mazdaspeed rims and buy 17" winters with the money.

Jurrasic,

I will be very interested to hear what happens when you go to the dealer and request the stock rims because I had the same experience as you. I got my 8 from Bank St. Mazda (performance package and $3500 special) so the MS rims were installed. I did not receive the stock rims and they have refused to give them to me. Since then, I have discussed this with my dealership in London and the sales staff (incl. manager) said they DON'T provide both the MS rims and stock rims. If you have success in getting the stock rims, please post here. Good luck!

Dealers love D!cking people around. The MS deal was not even a factory installed option, they do most of it at the Dealer. the Car comes with the stock 18's to the dealer. these dealers **** me off. you are entitled to your stock 18's. fight tooth and nail with them to get them.

I wouldnt walk outa there without the wheels.

Ya, you right. She may not want to have to worry about curbs, speed bumps, and pot holes though. You have to admit, it's nice to drive around a car that isn't going to bottom out or shake your brain.

True dat...I don't want to lower for those reasons. I use my car in winter so I don't want to plow snow.

Also I have 6'' from the ground now and I still touch curbs when parking so I have to be really careful...

Leesha, are you thinking of doing the exhaust?

I wonder if that affects the emissions component warranty if I went with the MS-dual can.

I was looking at all the options, Mazdaspeed rims and Performance package rims (somebody please post pics of these cuz I wanna make sure the ones I'm talking about are the correct ones), but I have to say, the stock rims look the best to me (I'm talking out of Mazda option only - not aftermarket). I mean for stock rims (compared to stock rims on competitor cars), Mazda did a pretty good job of putting some nice ones on our cars. So, I was thinking of getting another set of stock rims for the winter as well. How much do a set of used stock rims go for these days?

Anyway, unless I get a really good deal on some Mazdaspeed rims, the next set of rims I purchase down the road for summer use will be aftermarket rims. I still don't know which ones yet as I have to do a lot of research on which after market rims look best on our cars. Although, Kris' rims are really nice, but prolly really expensive! I have an '05 VR, so if anyone has a VR with 18" aftermarket rims, please post some pics as I would love to get some ideas of what my car would look like with aftermarket rims. Thanks and God Bless,

Ben.

Those are nice ... and light!

I'd like to sell the Mazdaspeed rims that came with the performance/appearance package. I only drove with them for a couple months and they're boxed up in my basement. Thing is, I wouldn't have a clue how much to ask for them.

Instead of the MS rims, I put on some aftermarket SPYN SVS TUNING (black with chrome lip) and decided to keep them on in the winter and now I'm looking for some cool summer wheels like Axis Hero or Reverb.
