Poll: Did you return your Canadian RX-8?

The title says it all. Now that the deadline has passed, what was your choice.

I ordered winter tires! :D

It more or less came down to random chance (see other thread) but I (just barely) decided to keep it.

Haven't even had the car a week and I'm having a blast. I simply cannot imagine returning this car. I've never had a car that actually made me want to get up early to go to work. As the good Doc says, they'll have to pry it from my dead hands (locked in rigormortis around the steering wheel!)

When I study what new BMW 5 does to make the heavier, higher
car handle flat around corners (a fairly expensive option) as the leader benchmark of a driver's saloon with latest technology, I believe the simpler (but extremely elegant)engineered chassis
of the RX8 is the better way to go (provided other space/comfort
criteria can be met in your buying decision). The rotory engine is an added plus but not critical to my decision. It's the chassis!

I'm 58 and now know the joy of a well-balance driver's car
that after six hours at the wheel, would not deter me from driving another six, especially if country roads as we have up here
between Southampton/Kitchener/and Toronto.

I'm looking forward to our first driving vacation so much!
(and Mazda Marketing are missing the boat for baby boomers following me who want to feel refreshed at the end of their drives)

There was never any doubt.

I suppose I could understand returning this car if my full-time job was to race the vehicle on a very straight track.

As it is, my commute time has doubled since I got this car - I go miles out of my way to find 120 deg turns and quality pavement. I'd like to see them try and take this machine from me .....

I'm keeping it. I just couldn't find better value for my money. I am also very interested in what canzoomer will be able to discover!

My decision was not easy but at the end I decided that I was not going to find something close to the 8 for the look, price, and performance.

I'M GLADE THAT I AM STILL DRIVING MY 8 AND LOOKING FORWARD TO ENJOY IT FOR A LONG TIME.

8400K? Get your oil changed yet? Wholly geez, that's double what I have, and I took 2 longish trips!

jasper will have you beat I think though, driving from NS to ON and back. Although that depends on how many km's he has now! That trip should add at least 3000km.

I'm bringing my scratched rim in for repair so that the dealer doesn't screw me over. So I can't even drive it anymore. I'll give her one last wash before I return the poor soul.

sure, had my oil changed at 6000km and my car purrs like a kitten. I had 2 weeks off in august and drove quite a bit to friends and family . Plus i can't stay away from that car... i also have close to 100km to drive every day to go to work and back. Cost a bit more then my Passat in fuel but the fun is too good.

how will they fix the wheel? I very slightly touched a curb and i have a tiny scrape on one wheel... is it expensive?

P jaques in montreal re surfaces the wheel, I was told $100-$150. Wait till the wheel is worse if it's not too bad.
