Arigatou!
Ottawa colleagues. I am new to this but have a gorgeous 2005 RX8 in Silver. I am searching for the name of a good mechanic who really knows how to service an RX8. The dealership is not giving good advice and really charging me an arm and a leg. Any suggestions? I live in the East end but would travel. Also, does the Ottawa chapter meet or share posts? I want to learn all about the rotary engine and become a devote RX8 fanatic! Thanks!
Andrew. Thanks for the post. I know little about car maintenance and was looking for someone like a regular mechanic who had his own shop and charged reasonable rates but dealt with rotary engines and the like. Mazda dinged me 100 bucks for a coil and I understand the plugs, coils and wires can all be bought for 240 or so. I don't really have the time, tools or skills to start tinkering and just thought someone might have a good reference.

Why not just buy the parts yourself and take it to the dealer to avoid the markup? shop labour doesn't vary, usually around 80-100/hr, get a quote at another shop. Likely wont be much different, ignition replacement isn't specific for a rotary aside from leading and trailing plug position.
Andrew. Thanks for the advice. Useful suggestions. I'm need at this and learning much along the way. One was done because Mazda said so. They should have suggested coils, plugs and wires all together from the posts I'm reading.
