Hi Folks, a great summer is coming to an end; mine got off to an early start with a wonderful drive in my new to me R3 to join the Deals Gap Rally, wish those roads were closer.
Grand Bend is my closest track, about 2 hours, and made it there for 2 Thurs evenings of finding our limits.... Did find that the TurboXS exhaust is close enough to and hot enough to melt the rear bumper!!
Last Saturday was cancelled and I think this coming Sat 15th is the last for the year.
It would be interesting if another 8 showed up to see how slow I am?
Price if pre booked by noon Friday looks like $150 for the day (10 - 5)..
I replaced the spark plugs before the DGRR trip, they were quite grungy, but it was running fine before and seemed about the same with the new ones.. I had bought new NGK wires, but did not install them until last week. Still haven't got that airbox out, but did remove the little box on the side of the intake tube to get to them. This time there was a distinct difference at the top end, certainly seems to go from the "surge" around 7200rpm to the beep at 8500 and the fuel shut off at 9300? quicker. (there is a "blip" just above 8000 but barely noticeable.. these things sure have a complicated intake system..)
Have only tried it in 1st and 2nd so far, 3rd will take it to 140+ so will wait for the track to see if there is a real difference. Maybe new coils are in the future?
