Notice: Engine cover rubber gasket missing
Be carefull when you remove the plastic engine cover/shroud from the RX-8. Somehow I managed to lose one of the rubber gaskets that is used to secure the cover to the firewall. Cost me $8 for a replacement.
FYI when I returned the car for the dynamic damper recall they also updated the air bag wiring harness. This update wasn't mentioned in the recall letter. Picked up my car last July so later RX 8s were probably updated at the factory.

There's a tech bulletin on the gromets, so I would think you shouldn't have had to pay to get the gromet replaced.

If my dealership tried to charge me 8 bucks for one of those things I'd flip. Even if my cat climbed up there and ate the thing off, I'd want a complimentry replacement. It's just one of those things you don't pass on to the driver in the warranty phase.
