Hey guys,

I know you guys are possibly showing up for your own meet on Tuesday (although I don't know how many people have actually taken delivery of their car??)

I'm just letting you guys know there is a big cruise on Aug 9th in the Niagara region.

It was started last year and it was such a success the Miata and RX-7 guys are repeating it again. This is the 2nd biggest cruise we have all year long. The first one was the Ottawa trip....

Anyways, there are already 35-40 Miata's attending along with 20 or so RX-7's.

It's a big cruise involving alot of driving throughout the day. Lots of winding roads along with tunnels
Keeping up with the Miata's was very tough last year. They had the upper hand because it's there turf. They do the "course" every night...
At the end of the day we meet up at a nice restaurant and have dinner.

So I'm hoping some of you guys can make it out.... It'll be interesting to see some RX-8's keep up with the rest of the people...

P.S. More info will come as soon as final routes have been mapped. Along with meet points to convoy down to the Niagara region....

Final plans are in the works this coming weekend. As soon as it's posted I'll relay the message here.
As it stands, we'll be starting again near the Hamilton area and working ourselves to Niagara.

Also, each local area is responsible for gathering people and heading out to the rendezvous point.
So for the GTA it will be Fairview Mall somtime around 9:30 or 10am.

There are other people coming from the Waterloo area and also London. So as soon as they post they're rendezvous points I'll relay the message here....

I was trying for the longest time trying to get a yellow one but it was not in the cards. If I wanted the yellow I was looking at an October or November delivery, just in time for winter. Just by chance I was able to get the same car (GT, fully loaded) but in blue but with immediate delivery - I snatched it up! Do I still like the yellow - you bet! Are there any regrets getting the blue - not at all, I'm loving it more and more every day!!!

just curious if this is a leisure cruise ..or are you going to be planning on "hitting some high notes"... i would love to come out, however, i'm getting my car delivered around aug 7th (therefore, it wont be broken it and i'll be driving like a grandma)... any thoughts? dont forget to take LOTS of pics...

The cruise is a mixture of leisure and some "high notes". Don't worry about the car not being broken in.

I'm having problems with my 7 so I can't take it above 4000rpm right now. But I know I'm rarely above that throughout the cruise. It's the corners you have to watch out for....

No worries. Bring out the car and you'll be breaking it in anyways... :D

Alright guys.... the local guys in Niagara have ran the course this past weekend and they're making small changes for the 2nd half. They garentee us a great 1st half....

Here is a map for the GTA guys to meet up at Fairview Mall. The Red dot is the parking lot we'll be at when you get there.....


Now just in case you guys miss our meet point in the GTA (or if there are any other RX-8's who are interested in coming) our official meet happens between Hamilton and Niagara.

The official meet point time is 1pm. So we have some extra time in the morning to get ready for the GTA people. I think if we arrive at Fairview for 10:30-11am we should be alright to meet up with the rest of the people at the official meet point....

Well, I was really disappointed that none of the RX-8's showed. Not even Zoomzoom who promised to be there...

We got there around 10:30am and waited for the people to arrive.
I was anxious to see at least 1 RX-8 show up.... We waited till about 11:20 and gave up...

Unfortunately none of you guys showed up even for the official meet point....

Everyone was teasing me... also the reputation you guys got wasn't that well.... I think you guys have to show up indefinately for the next one.....

Rumors start to spread.... Can't control any of that...

Sorry Neo for not showing up, but at the last minute I got a call from the guy who is installing the clear bra on my 8 and he wanted to do it that morning. Unfortunately I had no way of letting you know that I was not coming.
