Red face This Is The Next Chapter In Lois' Bad Luck Story

so last night i was going to a party and was meeting up with some people in Waterdown. I know i know where the hell is Waterdown? so i got off the 407 at Dundas #5 and going along my merry little way when this BEAR of a racoon quickly wattles accross the road. I was just about to slam on the brakes but it was raining and i had to make a quick decision. I GAVE 'R I hit the poor sucker doing about 65 and it was like hitting a freakin brick wall.

solong story short... i now need a whole new front undercarrige and wheel well.

at the party two friends got there late and was like "did anyone see the HUGE racoon splattered accross hywy 5?" I just raised my hand and took another swing of my drink.

only me

That's what you get for running it over. I even stop for frogs. No, really, hilarious story though.

(Yeah, I know I'm not from Canada, but this is still funny enough to require a response).

Many years ago me and my wife were driving from Winnipeg to Victoria to visit her family.

In the middle of Saskatchewan I hit a porcupine with my Talon. Luckily there was no visible damage to the car.

While in Victoria I took the car to a local shop for an oil change. Up on the hoist the guy had me come over and take a look. Hundreds of porcupine quills were stuck to the cars undercoating. What a mess!

LOL!!!

How do these things keep happening to you buddy?? I wonder why the Racoon would even consider crossing the road in the rain! lol

Sorry to hear about the damage... you couldn't avoid it?? You couldn't use the opposing traffic lane to avoid the racoon?? I bet you could have stopped! I'm sure the Racoon would have been more grateful...

So what's the estimate of repair??

to tell you the truth Neo, when it ran out in front of me there was only about 50 feet between us. it was raining and my tyres are the baldest things you have ever seen. it wasn't on my schedual for the day do drive my car into a ditch. so in the split second the i had to think, i desided that there would be less dammage and less chance of driving into a ditch or a pole/rock/building/or another 300lb racoon if i keep on going stright. If i had good tyres and it had'ent been raining then i would have probably pulled one of my stunts and avoided him. instead i helased his ***

havent taken her to the dealer yet. shes going in on friday for her recall and 48,000 check up so im sure the'll see what im talking abouit when i tell them about it.

there is no structural dammage to my knowlege

Thumbs up Did the same thing - Insurance Tip

At least with State Farm Insurance hitting an animal is covered under your comprehensive benefits and does not count against you like a collision claim would.

With the low front cowl on the RX-8 you'd be better off hitting a raccoon, possum, etc instead of a snowdrift, parking curb, manhole cover etc...

I bought a security package when I purchased my RX8 from my dealer (Dave Wood Mazda in Newmarket) and this coverd my deductible, up to $500.
