Thumbs up New Happy Owner

Hi everyone, just wanna say HI.

I just purchased a 2004 Blue RX-8. I wasn't too sure at the beginning but after I test-drove it, man ~ it's truly a fun car to drive. It is very dirty right now because of my highway trips and the rain in Vancouver lately, but once I have given it a good wash and wax, would love to share photos with you guys.

Love the forum, truly informational. 2 thumbs up.

Cheers!

Welcome Vancouver,
Mine is an 04 Velocity Red and, after a test drive, I fell in love too. The car has been great. I hate going a day without driving it.
Enjoy!!

Welcome aboard. Check and see if your car has had the recall done.

Thanks guys, and yes spd, I am about to do that, when I take my car to Mazda for servicing.

btw just bought the blue-8 like 1 & 1/2 month ago. I have always thought it was a good deal, wondering what you guys think: 2004 manual GT, very low mileage like 9,000 on the clock, no accident, in service date is November 04, no spoiler or ground effect kits, but has nav. system. $27,000 + tax. I paid another $1,500 to have extra 5 year /100,000km warranty with St Paul's Guarantee. I bought it at Pacific Honda, a close friend of mine works there, so there were almost no question asked. he worked out the math, monthly payments, and what not ... I just had to say YES or NO. Fortunately I did say YES. This car is so unique, it's awesome, I am loving it!

In the near future, I have planned to buy the MS rear spoiler, the aluminum Air Outlet Garnishes, and paint rotor hubs and calipers.

Welcome!

You're going to paint the rotor hubs? Why? Mazda will do that for you if it rusts, or so the rumour goes...

Thanks 1300, I read some threads about this too. When I go to Mazda for my 1st service, will try to get them to paint the rotor hubs for me on their cost. Fingers crossed.

Congrats on your winning blue RX8 purchase! Looking forwards to seeing you out on the roads!

PS: If your car is getting dirty, I'd recommend Rain X- Wax for the body and wheels, Rain X spray for the windshield.

It's worked wonders for me.
Hope this helps out keeping your car looking spotless!

(With RainX, you just have to rinse your car with a hose, the dirt washes off)

Cheers!

Thanks Gyro, great tips! I will run to Canadian Tire tonight to get a bottle of engine oil, and of course the Rain X you recommended.
