Just finalized the deal on a brand new 06 GS. I can't wait to get a hold of it. I previously drove a 2000 GS-R which was stolen a few weeks ago so i am just waiting for the insurance check to clear and the Rex is mine.
Glad to see there's a good community out there.
I'm trying to work with the dealership on the MS performance package (I know there's another thread for it). They say that if I opt for it they have to deduct $1850 from another one of the incentives offered on the 06s. Does anyone have any info or experience with this.
Thanks.

Welcome! I just bought my leftover '06 last week, picked it up Wednesday. You'll have lots of fun with it, I itch every morning to go cruising! Haha.

Like I said in the other thread that is BS about the performance package. If they stick to that walk away and go somewhere else I'm sure they'd want your money. What color is your RX-8?

Galaxy Grey, apparently it was the last 06 they had left so there wasn't any choice (I wanted red....but the grey looks good).
The car is mine but I'ms till finalizing the price. What do you think is fair out the door for a 06 GS 50km on it. Any opinions?
The only thing that makes me wonder about the MS package is that I know the sales manager pretty well and while I know he's in it to amke oney I don't think he'd lie to me.
I called Mazda Canada and they said its up to the dealer to choose which incentives they offer you. They also said they couldn't confirm the price the dealer pays for the MS Package. The sales manager says they have to put out $1850 for 06s only. he showed me the documentation but I didn't immediately understand it all.

Hey Clarky, welcome to the forum. Lots of pretty awesome people on here.
According to the Mazda Canada website, it says that you get 4 Mazdaspeed wheels and the CIA. To me that says if you dont get it, you're just OUT the wheels. It says $3500 in accessories at no charge, that doesnt mean they tack more money on if you dont want it.. or am I drunk here..
No wait, its only 918am, I'm good.

Call another dealer and ask them.. you're right he shouldnt lie to you if you know him, but that doesnt mean he wont

Good luck, happy cruising.

It doesn't cost the dealer anything to give you the package. When they sell an RX-8, they send a ticket to Mazda Canada, who then sends them the package free of charge. If you opt for the dealer to install the accessories for you, they then send proof of labor to Mazda Canada, who then "pays" the labor fee for installing the package.

It's all a factory-to-dealer rebate. Even if they pay anything to get the package for an '06 (they don't) it would be credited back to them as a factory rebate, so them trying to pass on the charge to you is double collecting.

Not to be an ***, but I think the sales manager might be taking advantage of you, encouraging you to trust him because you know him. Like I said, take the advertisement and read it to him where it says:

Purchase or lease a new 2006 or 2007 RX-8 between Jan 22/07 and October 2/07 and receive the RX-8 performance package at no additional charge.
