Got a 50km over the limit,ticket (court summons) on the way back to Toronto. Anyone knows a good traffic ticket specialist in or around Ottawa?

There are lots of people listed in Toronto for example, half don't have any connections and jump from one gig to another, I went through allot of people before getting to a good company. Just hoping somebody can recommend a guy that is proven, because the charge is serious.

 

I would say you're pretty well screwed, unless your driving record is squeaky clean. I know a guy who is one of the best around Ottawa, he usually represents cab drivers..if you're really interested I can get his info

Sorry to hear that. You're in the same boat as I am. Thanks for the tip re Ken Moore. I've called him, and will have to deal with my 50km/h over summons in sept.

The people I've talked to say 50 over is very tough. They step it up to a crown attorney, and then it's just the luck of the draw. You're really there to save your licence from a 30 day suspension.

I have a clean record, and the best outcome I've been promised is 40 over and 4 points.

 

I don't have any direct experience here but I have been tuned into the local Audi list for years and there is a guy on there that was clocked at 285 in a 100 (chipped S4 with no speed limiter). He was very lucky and got it knocked down to 114 after pleading with the cops before entering the court room so don't totally give up hope, it appears that he represented himself. This thing stuck in my head because it had to be the most extreme ticket I had ever heard of. The same guy seems to have a relationship wih X-Copper on Walkley as per the last message.

The Ottawa Subaru board is also a pretty active place http://www.ottawasubaru.com/english/ and it might be worth searching there. I don't pay a lot of attention to that one, my Subaru fits in the grocery getter/soccer mom category . . .
