Need tint advice
Hi guys, due to my ever increasing celebrity status I'm getting a tint, so two questions;
1. Tint laws in Ontario are vague, I understand its at the officers discretion if he can "see you" at the drivers and passenger windows, and anything goes anywhere else 'cept the wind-sheild of course. Do you guys know what this usually translates to? i.e. in Florida they allow a 28% tint (light allowed in)
2. Best rate I was quoted on (for the better "metalized" film) was $200 plus tax at tintking, one piece in back and lifetime warranty. Is that good?
Any help appreciated. ..Rui

The laws state very clearly and I quote the following sections:
73 (1) (a) Window obstructed
73 (2) Drive with window coated - view obstructed
73 (3) Colour coating obstructing interior
74 (1) (a) No clear view to sides
74 (1) (b) No clear view to rear
All those could apply to tint if the officers deems it. It doesnt state any percentage of tint is legal or not. These are right out of Provincial Offences act
A very good friend of mine is a police officer and he has told me many times that most cops wont write those tickets unless they get attitude when doing a routine stop.

My cars and truck are all tinted, and I have never had a rpoblem with the police. I only use one tint shop, it is called The Detailing Shop and it is in Newmarket. Be very careful with tint, you totally get what you pay for!
