hey guys...quick intro: I've been on the board for a while now and I recently got my red RX-8. I'm just in the process of working on some sponsorship programs, but what my question is....whats the best way to get into import car shows. like how do you know which one is comin up and how do you enter it.

 

you can normally enter in a car show locally, by registering preceding the show, paying a fee...sponsorship isnt easy to get since you have to heavily invest prior to getting a deal (depending on the type of sponsorship).. but since our cars have the unique "looks" sponsors are looking for it shouldnt be that hard with our gorgeous 8s.. :D

 

IMPORTFEST is coming up this weekend at ROGERS Centre.... I used to be involved in the scene hreavily and in order for u to get sponsored by manufactures you have to build the car into a certain level and make sure that you have enough explosure to prove to them that their name will be out there with your car.....

I had quite a few hook ups before... BFG, APR, JUN, MOTEGIs... all those big boys... but it took a WHILE before they'd even look at my proposal!!!

 

Keep in mind that once your car is sponsored the sponsors run your life. At least based on some past experience. They usually require you to spend $X updating your ride, attend at least X bigs hows in a year. get the cars into X magazines over several years. Blah Blah Blah

yupp.... not even worth your while unless you have nothing better to do than just sitting at car shows....i have a bunch of trophies sitting in my basement dont even know what to do with them!!!

 

Hrm.. guess I'll just makes lots of money and mod the car how I want...
