I have two sets of front pads:

pm me if interested: 40CAD picked up.

For rotors, post a WTB add in the general buy/sell section

The very cheapest rotors are often prone to warping quickly, but IMO there's zero reason to rely on a dealership for parts like rotors. Call around to local autoparts stores for prices (partsource, Napa, carquest, crappy tire, etc.).

I was at my dealership the other day to get my safety done...they said i needed new rotors AND brakes and charged me 900 hundred as well, but in fact i only needed to change my rear brakes (which we did ourselves...) and wen we went back, everything was fine...so just check to see if you really need the new rotors or if that's just what the dealership's telling you i'm sure you don't want to switch them unless you have to

I'm at 63,000km. I have about 40% pad life left on stock pads that came with new car

Just to add to a thread they were already mentioned, I just put Stop Tech slotted rotors (not drilled) to my fronts and using stock pads. Eventually I'll do the rear, but my mechanic said no need to since rotors and pads are fine at the back. It is nice when one's mechanic isn't trying to sell you work you don't need.

thanks, I'll look into it. Also, I was told by a local machine shop that sometimes rotors don't come 100% even from the maker and he suggests that I get them resurfaced before installing them. Do you guys know much about this, or is he just trying to make a few bux?

Thanks for everyones help and suggestions. I just got a killer deal on DBA 4000 rotors on Tire Rack $217 for both front L&R with shipping. They had a closeout and only had a few of the fronts left. I am now searching to find the rears for a decent price-Anutoanything has them for like $147 ea I will probably go with that.

Any of you guys use HAWK brake pads??---I am thinking of ordering the HPS.

Yeah, I saw that at Tirerack too. I would have been there before you BlueWankel, but I changed my mind at the last minute.

The reason they are close-outs is because DBA just released the new Clubspec T3 4000 series. Supposed to be an improved design. Also no more need for left and right anymore. So the price dropped on the old model to clear them out.

Also, after comparing several prices... stock rotors are going for $377 tax-in, for ALL FOUR in Toronto, so I think I'm just going to go with stock rotors. They're not bad.

RacingBrake open slot set is like $575 USD shipped from Raceroot, and this is not including any potential duties/tariffs/taxes going across border.

$377! is that for Stock OEM from mazda or aftermarket rotors? Also do you know if there is a difference between the auto and manual rotors? I have the sport suspension on mines and it's an auto....

$377 all-in for stock OEM rotors FROM MAZDA DEALERSHIP!!! yes I kid you not muthafucka!!

Yeah the auto ones with 16" wheels have smaller front rotors. But don't worry you have the sport suspension in Canada regardless of auto or manual, the same rotors.

At $377 all in, I can't justify paying nearly double in price for DBA or RacingBrake when given the fact that it's my daily driver, and I don't track nearly as much as I want to.

That's a sweet deal. Do you know if that dealership would be willing to ship to California? Would it be possible to provide the info?

The way you are looking at DBA vs OEM Mazda ... I was thinking just the opposite due to the best price I can get around here for OEM Mazda rotors is from Alabama and that was $320 (vs $217 shipped DBA 4000) just for the fronts + Pads were $90 reg. and $145 mazdaspeed... I usually buy my OEM stuff from Alabama (way cheaper) and they ship free if it's over $100. www.buymazdaparts.com Sometimes they have some flex on the online listed prices.

You can get quality rotors & pads from Rotorpros for much cheaper than that.

Even at that price, I'd still go with the Centric Premium rotors; that's just me. It'd be more of a deal if at that price it also included pads.

EDIT: futz beat me to it.
