Finally I can contribute to the MPG threads!! Yee haw! I got 346km / 51L today and that's my 1st tank! Not sure if the dealer reset them or not when they did the fill up. How many kms can you go for when the light is on till the car dies? I read not long at all.

SlowLude ... for some reason I thought you got your 8 awhile ago.

I'd beg to differ on how much extra you can drive... it's actually quite considerable. I usually can drive an additional 60km when the yellow light comes on. You've got 10 liters left in the tank when the light is on. I assume my CRAPPIEST kilometerage (6km/L) to be on the safe side and multiply by 10 liters --> ~60km before you are completely out.

I know that I can still squeeze out a few more kms (max is probably 75-80km) but why risk it? I guess it's good knowledge if you're stranded in the middle of Saskatchewan and far far away from civilization.

Well yeah, I ordered it back in March... but I didn't get it till 2 Fridays ago. The stealership had no blue ones. But the good news is that the build date is March 05 (not like that helps a lot) So look out for a blue in Westhills!!

Only ran 3 tanks so far, but got:

280km - First tank (HEAVY driving)
340km - Second tank (Slowed down a bit)
390km- Third tank (normal driving, a few fast launches, nothing crazy)

Pretty happy with the way I could drive and get 340 to the light coming on. Mind you I am used to my 1995 5.7L truck that took 100L and I only got 350km in the city. So even with premium gas, I'm saving money! Having a ton more fun too....

Waiting to see what I get highway. First big trip not planned until July though.

At last I can contribute to this thread! First tank went 330km when the yellow light came on and me too chicken to see how far she would go especially with my wife in the co pilot seat...Mostly city driving and I kept the RPM below 6000 to break her in. On the question of Fuel grade, has anyone tried 94Octane and does it make any difference? Sorry if this last one deserves a seperate post

I don't find that much difference between 91 and 94 octane fuel in either performance or mileage. I do find a big difference in 91 Octane fuel from different companies, Petro Canada 91 gives noticeably better fuel mileage over any other fuel suppliers followed by Shell\Sunoco, Esso gives the worst mileage although close to Shell\Sunoco.

I couldn't believe it, I was averaging 340 -390 Kms per tank depending on driving style using Petro, as soon as I put Sunoco 91 it dropped to 320 with no spunky driving! I figured the computer needed to get used to Sunoco's fuel so I ran it for a few tanks and only bettered to about 340. As soon as I put Petro again the tank gave me about 370 with the same driving style. I don't know anything about fuel but I am interested in why this occurs out of curiosity.

Hellbreed, that's an interesting point you bring up with the brands and all. I too find that the Shell gives slightly less mileage. I use mainly Husky and that gives pretty nice mileage (averaging about 350). Haven't tried the Petro yet.

I have about 1500km on my car right now and I'm getting about 280-300kms all city driving before the light comes on. I heard this will improve after my first oil change so I'll have to wait and see.

Just did my 2nd fill up today and got 403km/52L. That's with Petro-Can. I have to try out the other brands, but so far so good!

Last week I drove like a granny to see what I'd get between fillups and I was up from 300kms to 330kms (all city driving). Smaaaaall price to pay for a lot less fun! Looking forward to using the loud peddle again!
Good observation about the brands Hellbreed ... will have to check out some Petro action.

Sounds like you got the RX8 with the HYBRID engine hehehe
That's awesome mileage though. I think mine is getting heavier with each fill up:D
Still wouldn't stay away from DA BEEP though!

Is it a 6 speed or a AT? Seems like pretty good "kilometerage" for a GT with a lead foot.

I've topped out at 390km driving like a granny the whole tank.

Am I correct in thinking better milage should be possible with a AT due to the reduced RPM range and power? Or if driven the same (like a granny) would they give the same milage?

1/2 a 1/4 tank? You mean an 1/8th right? Wow, that is pretty impressive kilometerage.

So far on the N Flash, I've found that I'm getting about the same as before (350km/50L). At least it didn't go down like what happened with some people.
