Mileage certification

Hey all, After trading in my 04 8 for a minivan back in Sept 04 (Family first decision) I am finally getting myself another 04 8. My question is, how many kilometers did everyone get on their original RE040's (or still have)? From what I understand, there is no way to verify odometer tampering so I'm trying to use tire wear as my indicator. The 8 I'm looking at has 20000kms and front tires (original RE040's) have 60% wear and rear's have 75% wear. Although I've done searches on this topic, the wear seems a bit high to me. Does anyone have other suggestions on how I could verify if this is actual mileage of the car? TIA

I've been told between 32000 km (20000 miles) and 42000 km (26000 miles) is very typical for the tires to get down to "worn out" status. 2/32nds of an inch is typically considered worn out.
