Mileage Calculation...
it is definately louder when you accelerate hard.....but very minor if accelerating normally. It basically makes the car have a deep tone to it. but it is much louder when accelerating hard at high rpm's. cruising you can notice a slight difference.
Come to the Sherway meet next week and show me. It's only a 3 hour drive from Kingston, right?
sherway meet??......I am on vacation for the next few weeks .....so maybe.......details on this sherway meet??......ok found the details......have to check with my wife.....have some personal stuff to deal with on the 19th.....so not sure.

I've noticed an increase in mileage since i have strictly been using 91 octance instead of 94. I just took a trip to toronto from kingston and got 508km on a full tank.....light was on for about 5 minutes before I filled up. Cost me 58 dollars to fill.......believe gas was 101xx for 91 octane. Usually in the city I average about 320 -340/ tanks......higway about 440+. From what I can see everyone seems to get slighlty different results
ps- I should add that this last trip was taken after I had installed my sr motorsports high flo cat.....there was a slight increase in mileage- about 30-40km per tank from what I can notice.

Okay now that is insane because my average is around 380km...I still have to try 91 keep forgetting and use the highest...
I don't drive my car very hard typically... For the most part its hwy driving at 120kmh in 6th gear (to and from work)
From full to Red-Light last time I got around 315km... That is pathetic...
I should probably have something looked at, correct? Like, a plugged cat or something? I don't know...

And this is a SIGNIFICANT increase over the few of us - maybe we have something wrong on our 8's that need to be fixed?I'll post the exact same post on both threads cuz I'm lazy to think of different things to type! haha

Thanks Leesha....lemme know cuz if you consistently keep getting these high figures, as do most of you....then something is wrong somewhere and I gotta get my car looked at by Mazda. Btw, I'm at approx. 58,000 kms. Plus, what are your driving habits and how much % do you do on the highway and the city? For me, it's approx. 60% highway and 40% city. I changed it from 70/30 cuz I notice I've been doing more city driving lately.
ChristInBen you will never get Mazda to fix your car in a million years. Gas mileage depends on so many different factors that to believe that someone who says they drive 60/40 like you do gets better mileage because something is wrong with your car is RIDICULOUS. Even doing comparable types of driving doesn't account for Throttle position, load, corners, hills, wind, tire pressure, traffic, stoplights, and the myriad of other factors that can affect mileage.
I have the scanguage so I can see instant mileage and trip mileage. When I go from 404 to Bronte road using hte 407 I get 11.9 going to Bronte Rd, and 11.4 coming back to the 404. This usually has to do with the fact that it is slightly downhill most of the way from Oakville.
Just accept your mileage for what it is. If you really want to save gas get a jetta diesel.

Ben.
I think everyone that posts in these threads needs a Scangauge, way too much speculation and interpretations and bias. I'm looking at getting one, but I do want the Cobb, and pretty sure I'm going to get annoyed with playing with both plugs, wish they had a second obd2 or a splitter, lol.
Then again I doubt I'll be using the Cobb everyday. It would be a neat experiment to see before and after evaluations using the scangauge after installing a high flow cat, the mazsport ignition, and after the Cobb fuel economy tune.

I did 1100 KMs or so over the weekend. On my last fill to full (no over-squeeze), for about 350KMs (3/8ths of a tank remaining - indicated) I filled with 41L of Esso 91 octane.
That works out to 11.7L / 100 KMs... not bad for "slightly over the limit" and a bit more at times.

soooooo how are my canadian neighbors doin????..........i got a few ?s, do you guys sleep with you doors unlocked? are guns illegal in canada? is weed legal in canada? is canada a nice place to live?
1 -No
I lock the doors because my wife is a worrier, but I'm a lot more worried about relatives than strangers!
2 -No
You can own rifles, if you keep them in a locked cabinet, or even handguns, but don't be carrying them around.
3 -No
Cops still bust 'grow-ops' and confiscate bales of weed, but possession is still kind of a grey area.....
4 - ...the jury's still out.
Spring is ALMOST here....the temp here is hovering around freezing, trees are starting to bud, the snowbanks get smaller every day. Ask again in June!
