Helmet is mandatory at Mosport always. Only the other tracks give the option to the organizer.

Well, Mr Diedrick attended my event so I will attend his..............if our back ordered transmission parts ever get here and it isnt raining or snowing! We will bolt a passenger seat in the car and if everything works maybe take a few people around the track in it.

As long as your comfortable with the helmet on your head its fine. Why would the passengers not need helmets? You don't care about your passengers safety lol?

It's all good, you answered my question anyways.

(I meant to ask whether the passenger needed an SA2005 helmet as well as the driver....)

Thanks for answering

Time to look for 2 snell M helmets... hopefully I can find it before the end of the month... (yes, I'm cheap... cuz I don't have $1000 hanging around)

If it makes you feel any better, I use a $40 ebay helmet. If I flip, I'm screwed anyway since I don't have a cage and the RX-7 roof is weak.

Dont waste your money on a M helmet. You can get SA2005's online starting at about $229.00 USD. Eventually the tracks will all insist on a SA helmet, much like the Ministry insists on a M helmet for bikes.

You can get an open-face helmet at CSC for $290. Look for the Sport Mag model on this page:

Not trying to be a jerk, dont buy an open face helmet. I have seen 1st hand what an airbag and steering wheel in the teeth can do and its not pretty. I was driving the rescue truck on a lapping day at mosport in the early 90's and responded to a Honda Prelude that had hit the turn 1 wall head 1st. Both driver and passenger had open faced helmets and would have had painful and expensive dental work needed after. The full face will prevent that. Until that day I had insisted on wearing an open faced helmet because I felt I could see better and breath better in one. The next day after I went and bought my 1st full faced helmet.

I now have the Pyrotect Pro Airflow SA2005 helmet, I used to have the Gforce, I prefer the Pyrotect. It starts at $248.00 USD you cant go wrong.

www.pyrotect.com or www.gforce.com they both have reasonably priced safety equipment

Looks like its going to be sunny with some clouds and 10*C. Couldn't be better considering the time of the year.
