Mazdaspeed Press Event!! (High res pics...)

Thanks to Mazda Canada for inviting us out to test some of the Mazdaspeed Performance parts on their cars.

Here's a few pics taken... Alot of fun... Which I hope we can duplicate again later in the season!

You've got to give it to Mazda for having such a consistent design language across their entire model range.

Installing the Mazdaspeed performance parts greatly improves the cars overall feel.
I'm definitely getting a Miata with some of the parts we tested yesterday!

Leesha,

I can only wish someday I'll be able to work for Mazda. My day job is the typical I.T. work.

Mazda Canada was gracious enough to ask some forum members to come out and test some of their cars.
The journalists had their go a few days earlier. We were the last batch of people.

I'm definitely getting the Miata with a few performance parts. Sharpen it up a bit..

Leesha,

Well, I took a look at the parts catalogue. There are alot of parts available for the Miata.
I ideally I would get the intake, exhaust, the limited slip (because I would want to get the GX PRHT version) and possibly the coilover setup along with the sway bars.
I can live with the stock wheels. Although those Mazdaspeed wheels do look tempting....

Hey Neo,
I agree with you about the intake and the wheels. I just had the Speed package installed on my VR 07 GT and the wheels draw a lot of attention.
The engine note with the stock exhaust and the intake is really throaty, although my wife wonders why we needed the intake.......fast enough already

Great shots.....thanks for sharing

2. sways to improve that awful roll
3.exhaust for the song
4 lighter and wider wheels

Great to hear you guys like the pics.

Yes, something like the Miata above. Although, I still think the stock wheels look nicer than the wheels above.

The white one looks really nice. Purposeful without going overboard.

The wheels on the grey RX-8 are MAZDASPEED aluminum alloy wheels. They come with the Performance Package that Mazda is offering right now at no-charge on all new 2006 and 2007 RX-8s (http://www.mazda.ca/files/2007_rx8_pp_en.pdf). But you can also order them through any Mazda dealer.

They are the Mazdaspeed wheels for a Mazda6,and are heavier than the Mazdaspeed wheels for the RX-8.Wheels on the Mazdaspeed 6 are different.

They're different style rims. Something different from the stock 5 spokes. Both the stock and this Mazdaspeed wheel replacement are heavy for their size.

When we were at the event they had the nice 5 spoke Mazdaspeed Forged wheel on the wall. Those are the nice rims. At 1G a pop, it better be nice!
I won't even go into the Magnesium wheel of the same design! lol

The MS6 wheels in the package are 18x7.5 not 18x8 and would make very cool boat anchors.....Stock wheels are about 21.5 lbs the MS-01 gunmetal wheels are about 17 lbs
