Mazda anti theft system

Does anyone know the make, and model , as well as the ULC listing number of the anti theft system in our 8's?

Do you all have the anti theft systems?

My insurance company is trying to tell me my system is not "factory installed", meaning that not all RX8's automatically come with it, you have to order it.

I do not remember having to order the anti theft system, and I somewhat recall all RX8's having the system.

Surely if my GS model has it, the GT's have it also.

I could be wrong, but our insurance is public, not private, and not to knock the people working there, but it seems that the answer to a question sometimes depends on who you talk to, on what day of the week, and what time of the day it is, lol.

The whole point to this post is if the system is on the approved list for my insurance company, I get 40 bucks a year off of my insurance.

Are there others that get a discount? I figure if it is approved I would not be the first Mazda owner to qualify for a rebate.

I'm 95% sure GS's don't have the anti-theft system. A simple test is to open your window, get out of your car, lock it with your remote and try to open the door from the inside. If no alarms go off, then you don't have such a device on your car.

I was right, all 2004 (and on) RX8's , both models have a factory installed system.
I was gonna call buddy back at the insurance place to email him a pdf of my 2004 brochure.
I ended up talking to another person who agreed that the RX8's came with anti theft, however, she said according to their records, the system is not one of the 5 that qualify for the rebate.
She said it had to be a system that required the chip in the key to be present in the car for the car to start! ??????? LOL.

Government workers........dont like the answer you got? Call back in 10 minutes and someone else wiull give you a different answer.

Revenue Canada is always good for a laugh. No one seems to know anything about their jobs. "Uhhhh....I'll tranfer you to another dept"........

Yes we do have that. Thats what is so funny about it. Our public insurance employees dont seem to be on the same page with each other.
