Malaysia's massive 99 RX-8 meet last year

Kuala Lumpur's population is 1.6 million.
GTA population is in excess of 3 million.

Seeing the rx8 community's recent activities in 2011 saddens me. Best example is the turnout on Mike's cruise...

What are we all doing wrong and how can we make it better in 2012?

Kuala Lumpur did a 99 car meet for those who didn't watch the link above. AND they have GIRLS!

we've had a 15 car rx8 meet at Silverstar Blvd and Steeles before, it was a east-enders only meet, and pretty last minute too from i recall, that was in 2010 i believe, or maybe 2009

but yeah it's been a while since we've had a nice turnout...

lol after visiting both KL and Singapore... I'm going to bet that most of the girls were from Singapore... (hotness per capita is unlike anything I've ever seen before :P).

maybe we can start off with a good winter beater meet :P ? my ******* wagon is almost ready to rock and rolll.

Like Maffu313 said...we could get 12-15 cars out easy (15 in 2009 & 12 just a couple month ago @ red maple & hwy 7)

My prespective is we need an organizing body (previously that person had been Al) At the annual Mosport parade laps; don't we get a lot of 8s out?

Plus the culture is different in Asian....import car is the main scene there; whereas in North America it is very localized.

I'm not saying its impossible...it just takes proper planning, purpose and dedication.

Yeah, as 2hit6 stated, we had like a 12 cars meeting at red maple and Hw7 few months ago..... But again, not just RX-8 Club, the RX-7 Club those Summer and Fall meetings at Sherway Gardens didn't happen this year at all........ people not interested in having a 50-60 rotaries car meeting at Sherway Gardens anymore....

Perhaps the focus needs to shift away from the cars themselves and onto the activities that the people who get together do.

This means, instead of parking lot meets it will be stuff like sushi meets, burger meets, pub meets, bowling meets, go-kart meets?

?

I think footman's got the right idea... the cars come with us no matter where we go - so a novel activity would be a neat thing to do. The only issue again is organizing it. Go Karting is a wicked activity :D I recently went to GP Kartways in the west end and even with just 4 guys it was ridiculous fun.

Nicer weather
More nice weather
Easier to predict the weather
Higher population density
More nice weather
A car friendly environment, don't still food they will cut your hand off and it's the death penalty if you are caught with drugs. But they like cars.
More nice weather

If you guys can get the cars I can supply the venue at Mosport this spring on the mothers day weekend again. I am sure BEMC will give us some track time etc, and we can have an area that will hold at least 75-100 cars. When I did Mazdaspeed North we had over 200 cars out that day and believe it or not the RX-7's were the biggest in numbers, followed by you guys and Miata/MX-5's. I would love to have another "Rotorfest" as its days seem to be numbered and it would be kinda cool to have one last huge harrah before everyone sells their cars, gets married, has kids etc.
