I'm looking to buy a gently used RX-8 for my wife's 50th birthday at the end of August 2005

Must haves would include: 6 speed
Nice to haves would include: Moonroof, heated seats, red or blue colour
Not necessary: Navigation

She doesn't drive a lot (6k/year) but we have a couple of kids (14 and 11) so a 2 seater Miata could become a problem. I'll likely keep our '96 Protege for winter driving (and for my daughter to drive when she turns 16). There are a number of RX-8's in the AutoTrader but mostly from dealerships in the Toronto area. I'm willing to drive to T.O. to check out these vehicles but would prefer a private sale closer to home.

Also, do RX-8's ever go up for auction?

Thanks for the offer. I ended up purchasing an RX-8 in Montreal today. Very close to my "ideal" car except for the colour. I will need regular maintenance in the Ottawa area so which Mazda dealership are you from?
