What are you all getting for insurance rates in the GTA? I am curious if it's the same as a WRX or a Z. errr... not that I am buying those cars. :D no seriously, I am hoping that the extra 2 suicide doors would help the rx-8 to be classified as a 4dr car therefore lowering the rates.

I was quoted $121 a month. Clean driving record, 33 yrs old, live downtown. Got the quote from The Personal Insurance Company and it's only about $10 more than my 93 Grand Am! I'm convinced it's because of the four doors. That was the final deciding factor for me back in March. Most Sports Cars would cost much more to insure because of the two doors.

 

crikeys! that's similar to what I am paying for my 2dr 2.5RS!!!

 

my insurance co (state farm) quoted me $140/mo -- the vehicle is still not even in their system! they based this amount on the MSRP (thus the replacement value). I'm 35 living in ajax/pickering.

My insurance will HALF!

I just got my quote, it will be a little more for the RX8 than the Acura TSX but not much more.

The RX8 is more expensive to repair according to their rates.

But my current car is a tiburon the highest rated car (blacklist!) I NEED to get out of this STUPID lease!

Apparently there is no way out!
