Income Tax Rebate

So, I am getting a bunch of money back. I need you guys to somehow talk me out of spending $1200 USD on new wheels. I am most likely going to be getting new tires but the urge of buying new wheels for the the tires is almost impossible to ignore.

Anyhow, these are the wheels that I am thinking about, Enkei RS+Ms. They are 18x8.5 +35s

I am going to be wrapping them in 255/40/18s if I get them. I need to be talked out of them.

Have you considered the OZ Alleggerita's? They are similar in design, and are very very lightweight.. 17.2 Lb for 18 x 8.5.

I have those rims, but I went for the 18x7.5 version to save weight.

I love the look of them.. They look very light, and I think that's what makes rims look good.

very nice jason. I think you are posting in the wrong place if you want people to talk you out of buying something nice for your 8 though. lol. I myself actually like the stock wheels, so when i do decide to get wheels they are going to have to be something very nice(*cough* TEs *cought*) and price will be no object (so this is a few years away, lol). my spare change is going to be spent on things that either need to be improved or are damaged on the car. the stock wheels actually do look good though so its not urgent for me at all. Hope that helps. lol.

Agent, this may seem rather odd but would there be a time where I could come and see the the wheels on your car?

Maple Ontario is near Vaughn or King right? Around the 404 or so?

Not sure about that off set personally! I would do a +38 (I have) or a +43 (thunder has). Look like nice wheels tho! If you can find pics on an 8 post up.

IMO I would stick with 245's - I have 245's on 8.5 +35's and they almost touch the fender under full load. (Swift spring +OEM)

Either way - I like the wheels

I agree, don't go wider than 245 on a 8.5 inch rim

the best time to get new rims is when you need new tires.

I've seen Agent's wheels up close. They're very nice. Much lighter than the stock rim too.
Agent noticed a significant increase in response time.

Hard to find wheels that are light and don't break the bank.

Sanguine,

Sure we can arrange some time to meet. PM me, or maybe we can meet at the next D&B meet if someone wants to schedule one.

I attached a really crappy Cell-Phone pic.

As Neo said, I did notice an improvement in steering response after shedding 4.5lbs off the rims. I hope to go one better and loose another 4.5lbs with two piece brake rotors sometime this summer.

p.s.. I get money back this year as well.. Sucks for you guys that have to pay, but someone has to fund my tax return

+35 is the wrong offest for an RX8 unless you have maybe a 7-7.5 inch wide wheel.

Really? They fit or it is something suspension or steering related?

The wheel will stick out of the front and back fender. The stock offset is +50, if you take 15mm which is about 1/2 inch, and add 1/4 inch per side of extra wheel width you can see how that wont fit. Take a measuring tape from the edge of your wheel and add 3/4 of an inch and see where the wheel will end up!

wait...are you saying 18x8.5 +35 won't fit?? because i have this setup w/245/40's and they're still tucked w/-.5 camber IIRC. I've also had 18x9 +30 which sat flush with the fender.

This is hilarious! The guys on this forum will not be able to talk you out of spending anything! They'll talk you into more!

You need to speak with your gf or wife... Or your investment advisor or someone like that. haha.
