Letter

I got my letter yesterday Sept 3rd and I picked my car up on Aug 19th. I was called by my dealership and they told me to hold out on Mazda because if I do they will be forced to give me a sweeter offer as they did to the hold outs when the Miata had the same problems.

Cheers
Andrew

What dealer told you to hold out??

I'm holding out till the last minute, heck WHY NOT?

But I don't think they will give a sweeter deal. If you don't return the form and answer you get NOTHING.

The number for Mazda Canada is 1-800-263-4680.

They should be able to tell you if a letter was sent and confirm if they had your address right.

What Miata hold outs? What sweeter deal? I was on Miata.net forums through that whole deal, and have never once heard of any sweeter deal. If the Miata scenario is to be used as an example, then that's the deal, take it or leave it. There is nothing sweeter coming.

Perhaps the dealer is trying to screw you out of the free service? If you don't take the deal by the deadline, then you have to pay (the dealer) for your service visits.

Gordon

Hold Out

Wing;

I was speaking to Scott at Bank St. Mazda He's the one that told me to hold out because basically we have Mazda by the short and curlies (false Advertisement) and that this vehicle is there Flagship Car so they will do almost anything to give us a break. I also heard that RX8's are so popular that dealerships are giving other dealerships $600 above invoice and pay the shipping for there unsold RX8's.

Cheers
Andrew

Nope. Have you ever read the fine print on those advertisements? There's always disclaimers about any information being estimates, etc., and that they are not responsible if any information is incorrect. There is no false advertisement claim possible against Mazda. Further point - Mazda themselves have pointed out that the new rating of 238 HP is within 5% of the original 247 hp rating, that 5% being the allowable variance. So even if they were liable for advertised HP ratings (which they're not), they are still within legal tolerances and there could be no claim on 238 vs. 247. The dealer's claim is BS.

Gordon

Hey Gaels22

Don't put too much faith on what someone from Bank St says. This is the same dealership that told me "all our cars are sold won't get any until next year... " and 4 min later if you say you want to buy this week, all of a sudden "well this one may be available". Also look at Wings previous postings in regards to dealing with Bank St. I'm just saying be careful. You may end up with nothing. Check the validity of the claim that Mazda made a second more generous offer, get Scott to show you a copy of that second offer. I haven't found anything to that effect (yet). Good luck!

Bank St? Be VERY VERY Leary.

Now funny thing is Scott called me the day I received my letter and told me, I will be receiving a letter (I said, yup already got it) he said ok, any questions? I said, nope not really, he said, just make your choice and send it back.

Never mentioned that to me. I did ask him about the mats and he said, he didn't get any yet..... still waiting on them!

I want them before oct because I plan on getting a rattle fixed at the same time.
