comparing a highly modified lemans GT car with the road car is a little outlandish...adn i have not done the decarb yet so i cannot respond to your other comments/questions...and that still doesnt put mazda and ferrari in the same class or universe...i know you are desperately hanging onto the to notion that the rx8 is a super exotic like a trekky keeps his leonard nimoy autographed cheezie however the facts are one of the forementioned cars cannot be fixed by any human..nor are they interested in learning how to fix them because only 14 have sold since the 80's

just to clarify before you tear my post to bits...the cars in lemans have been highly modified to race in that series....they are nothing like the stock car..that said if you give me the budget i can make a lada do 1:13s at monza....

Also, my car has put me through hell a few times already, and ppl tell me to get rid of it, or say its not worth keeping. But I dont give a ****. I love this car. When I had a flashing cel that wouldnt go away (cant remember the code at the moment) they did everything to find the issue and nothing worked. Decarb, compression test passed, sparks, coils. Everything was fine. After 2 months they figured out that the wrong ECU was in the car. A cali spec ecu was in a canadian car and that was causing it to **** up. So check that **** out, who knows. Next time confront an issue with more calmness. I get fed up too sometimes but i dont come here yelling at fellow enthusiasts and bitch and moan on how the car is ****, but to us the car means more to us. Not trying to start ****, just a word of advice..

Has anyone realized the parallel that can be drawn between this and typical abusive relationship patterns? The car is like the abusive man and yet the woman still stays with him. They would interview the woman and she would be like "I know he beats me but I know he loves me." So its like car is giving so many problems but yet people like a fixer car as opposed to one that gives them no problems. Abusive eh?

I think there's a slight difference. There is an extreme sense of satisfaction once you get this car running right. I'm in the midst of a 6 month rebuild and I have no doubt that after it's all said and done I'll believe that the time and money was 100% worth the feeling I get of flying down the street.
Remember, the sweet ain't as sweet without the sour.
I see the RX8 as more like a hot girlfriend that can be a real bitch at times. The only reason you put up with half of her **** is because, well she's hot and is a tight ride.

If the man is smart, he will give the girl what she wants. And by doing so, the rides will be so much smoother
