The factory stereo is great. I love it when the door handles change from the outside Don't think the elderly appreciate it though.

really you think the sound is great?

to be honest, i have been disappointed with the sound....when i thought i was getting a bose system i thought i was going to get a more deep sound...i think the system is a little 'tinny' and seems lacking in power and depth....

The stock system is my only complaint with my 8. I agree that the bose speakers are weak and tinny and am looking at a replacing them and adding a sub. But don't let the subpar sound system affect your desicion on getting an 8. It's a great car.

Well i think its so so, I can put it to Max no problem , and distortion is quite low, its a clear sound at max , but could use a bit more power..... hu hu hu More Power .. sorry tool time talknig... But its a decent sound system, for starters... it does have 9 inch inverted cones in the doors, wich is not bad, ....but more power.....

okay to answer some of your questions,

I am by no means a car audio guy but ill try to explain...

I knew i was buying a bose system, i expected it to be fantastic, i have found that it is okay...

the sound is crisp, but somehow (in layman terms) the sound sort of disappears, i give the system a 7.7 all things considered...

it sounds a little tinny...it could use some more power, plain and simple...

so what all u guys r saying is that the system juss needs more power? so if i put a amp it would that help? i'm gonna get the sub for sure cuz i love bass! lol :D
and the system wouldn't effect the decision of me getting the 8.....the system is one of the least of my concerns.....but still one...hehe RX8 4ever!

I'm fairly happy with the Bose system. Plays very loud clearly. It is a little lacking in the bass department though (not terrible but certainly not great).

ok so what you guys are saying is that the system is relatively good...the only problem is it doesn't pound the low end?

That being the case that'll suit me just fine. I just want a clean and crip system that sounds good to the ear.

Back in the Early 90's my pops had a '90 Audi 100 which had a Bose stereo system in it. I found it to be an ideal system that is way better than whats in the vast mojority of other cars. If you are not an audiophile the system will keep you more than happy. If the RX8's sys is anything like that one from 14 years ago (which I'm sure it is if not probably way better) than I'm a happy camper.
