If the price is below your budget, it's a good price. Do a search, there have been lots of thread where people list their invoice and "out-the-door" prices. I got my 06GTMT, new, for around $23--before trade-in, downpayment, tax, licensing fees, extended warranty, etc. There should still be plenty of Mazda Factory Rebates available. If you get below invoice, then it's a fair deal and you're cool, any lower is icing. DO NOT PAY MSRP, much less a dime over MSRP!

By the way, when you go to the financing dept. beware the little bullsh!ts they will, undoubtedly, try to sell you! They will add up FAST! Just keep saying, "NO!" and after about 2 hours of butting-heads, they should give.

2 cents.

In Canada, you should only pay low-mid 30s for a leftover 2006 GT.

Sure the prices are cheaper in USD but with the exchange and duty you'd end up paying more.

Are you interested in new or used? Whereabouts in Canada?

Then buy used. You can find them for mid-20s everywhere, low mileage too. It doesn't make sense to buy a new RX-8 anywhere near the full MSRP because this car depreciates so badly (due to the actual transaction price being substantially lower than the MSRP). If you pay over $35k for a new one, you'll lose $10k just driving the car off the lot.

Ajax Mazda has a few GTs left (2 or 3). Talk to Brad the Sales Manager.

the price is somewhat related to your geographical location in Canada... here in Calgary, dealers (not only Mazda but most imports) are charging close to MSRP on most of the their models... simply because of the good economy we have out here. If you're in the GTA, then you will for sure get a better price... because of the competition and also resale values are much lower in Toronto than in Calgary.

True. I paid MSRP for mine but it had to do with it being a new model and all. It was the only one left when I was looking.

stanleylee, TO should have lots of bargains on new 06's just give'r a good look.

You'll be very fortunate to find a 2006 model left in August 2007!

Depending where you are, 06's could be hard to come by...

Cloud summed up my thoughts pretty much here...

The invoice on the car is like $36600, plus all that freight PDI crap, gets you to around $38500.

To orange0303: How the heck can you get the car for $39500 OTD?

I got the invoice price from CarCostCanada.com, for a 2007 GT + Freight + sunroof, it's around 39000$. I'm shopping for one right now and the lower price I got, for leasing, even when showing them their cost, is 40888$. Which is a reasonable 3.25% profit. I'm still shopping to see if I can get a lower price. I'm in the ottawa region.

Then you add 14% tax to that and it's $46612....
so much tax!

Don't forget incentives. Many here, including me, bought brand new RX-8s for below invoice thanks to incentives direct from Mazda. These should be shown on the CarcostCanada report.

There are no incentives now for the 2007... the guy that bought it for 37k OTD (Amkorp) has disappeared, and has never responded to the replies for posting up his invoice. I think he's lying.

I want to see someone actually post up a FINAL price after Ontario's 14% tax below that of $43,000.

No, the guy said includes his tax... he said he will "go back to Ottawa on the weekend and scan the invoice and post it here"

never heard from him for a month now.

PM-ing him, no reply.
