Exclamation HELP Rotary Crest installation photo instruction

Hi

I just bought the Rotary front and rear crest. However, I checked out a thread in here b4 with some photo instruction. But now it seems disappear. Again I checked couple hrs without any success.

Please help me out on this, your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

P.S Actually I need the name of the rubber acholol in which I can clean up the plastic area and place my crest safe. Don't want to risk the crest to fall off when I got to some rough road condition.

Its not "rubber alcohol" but rather rubbing alcohol and you can get some at any pharmacy.

Isopropyl alcohol is probably what you're thinking of. Like Shamblerock said, get it at a pharmacy. It's usually used as an antiseptic for cleaning, first aid, etc.

With regards to the installation of the accents, it's pretty easy.

For the rear accent, clean off the rear accent bumper recess with alcohol. Peel off plastic on doublesided tape from the underside of the accent. Place accent in (it only goes in one way). Maintain pressure for 30 seconds or so. Enjoy!

For the front accent, clean off the V shaped plastic portion on the front bumper with alcohol. Peel off plastic from doublesided tape and place onto bumper. Maintain pressure fo 30 seconds. Push the pins in on either side (pins look sort of like mini x-mas trees). Enjoy.

It's funny how the rear accent is only retained by tape! Can you believe that the dealer charges like 50 bucks or so to do this?

In all, it took me roughly 5 minutes to install my accents.

Ditto to both of the above. Follow bluefrenzy's instructions exactly as he has described the steps. (My kit from Canzoomer contained everything including some wipes saturated with Isopropyl. If only all mods were this easy-and inexpensive!)

Thanks for all you guys instruction. Appreciated your help when I needed the most. Now another case is when I started installing the rear crest I used some windex to clean the plastic area after a couple minutes I use some water to rinse it out. But I found the plastic a bit sticky. Therefore I spoil all the spring water to rinse it up. Result not help. Then I am thinking wth, just install it. I can wait but the crest can't so I use the attached 3m prima to wipe the area and stick my crest on it. Interesting thing is the 3M prima wipe out some dirt with it. But WOW job done. Now a bit of regret why I shouldn't use the Isopropyl to clean it. I asked the Tech guy he told me thats for oil cleaning. Soap should be fine.

Now my question is after I use windex and become sticky on the surface area is clean like new. I guess this will add more strength to stick my crest. So do u think is ok? Do I need to do anything now?

Sounds like it's stuck on good. The only thing you need to do now is PRAY like the rest of us that it won't pop off in the middle of driving.

Yea, me, boss. Was I alone? I saw you as well ..you were heading at a goodly rate of knots to points east of me. No chance to give the RX8 salute.

Ya, I think you were alone. I didn't see anyone else.
It seemed everytime I passed you within view, there were other cars blocking.
I usually head down the Salem ramp, and then up the other side after the light (as it is legal to do so since they put in the extra lane).
It saves me about 5mins or so going home to Oshawa.

Re: Salem-- Yes, that's a good 'dodge' that I learned from riding the GO bus in the winter while I was still working in TO and the Miata was in the fixit shop.

Hope to catch sight of you again! Thanks for writing.
