I think the RX8 fender strakes look better than Merc's!!!

 

another SHINEY 8, condo lighting works really well for pics.gotta get me some strakes, there not loud but enough to catch you eye.

 

Strakes are FAILZ. Especially on that MERC.

 

That Mercedes is a very retro car!

 

Like the car, but not the strakes on them.. RX8 fender strakes are much nicer too

 

I like it. Don't like the doors though.

 

Love the doors, not sure about the rest of it though. I've never been a fan of this whole 'retro' styling that car companies are obsessed with recently.

 

They're just catering to the sentimentality (and relatively thick wallets) of the Baby Boomers Jedi. I must be the exception because I didn't want a Camaro back in '69 and I don't want one today.

That Mercedes looks godawful...

 

Are fender strakes those silver plastic things behind the fenders? Which RX-8 models came with them? Mine has them and I like them.

 

when i look at the front fender/wheel/light area, it looks like a 350z.

when i look at the rear window area, it looks like a viper

when i look at the long slanted hood, it looks like a vette.

when i look at the entire package, it looks like a hard top flatter version of a z4 - aka, a shoe.

 

i just looked at all the photos. it doesn't just have side strakes, it has strakes on the hood too!

 

on this pic the rear end looks a little mx5 ish and as previously stated the front is simalar to the 350z. not sure who the hell will buy this car cos its not a nice looking AT ALL!

 

I was going to say "come one guys it's not that bad looking".... but thanks to that picture, it is obvious they went over board with strakes.

If they removed the hood strakes, I might say, it doesn't look half bad. If I had the money... ya, I'd buy another RX8. But I might get a poster of this Mercedes and hang it near to my collection of RX8 posters.

You know... some of that styling kinda reminds me of a RX7 with the headlights. The front bumper is not half bad either. It's.... almost likable, for this RX8 fan boy.

 

wow, whoever designed that mercedes needs to get sacked IMO! what happened to the good old days when mercedes actually looked GOOD the newer ones now are okay, better than the last generation, but if this shows any insight on what mercedes are going to look like in the future, then.....

let's just say i hope they stay in business
