HardCore Mic Stops For a Wounded Red With A Flat Tire ..
Gezzz and you guys were calling me Hardcore last night ... Hmmm now I'm starting to believe you ..
At our meet in Belleville we were talking about what we should do when we get a flat ... That's when Helas told us about a kit for a spare on the roof...
Well I have an interesting real life story ... Details will be posted around 7:00pm
Here Goes ..
I jump on the 407 at the 401 and crank her up to 130-140 into the passing lane so as to let the others know there's an 8 on the road.. Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" playing at 30... **** in seconds just around the Derry Road cut off I see a Red off to the side...hmmmm...is it a member? Want them to be a member ?
Brain is in overdrive ... Female ? Male ? Who cares.. Slow down to 110... brake it and park in front of the Red.. Jump out of the car and a guy ( Dan's Age ) jumps out of the Red with a big, big smile.. I say "Hello Family" and at the same time see a flat on the left rear tire... I then say " Holy ****" we talked about this situation just days ago. I said to him.. have you called anybody.. he said I did.
I didn't have my Mazda roadside assistance number so I called a local Mazda dealer and they said somebody will be there in an hour or less. I said good move as I told the boys in Belleville that is what I'd do if I had a flat. Screw the tire kit ..
I ask him where he's from and if he goes on the site. He says he's from Brantford and knows nothing about the site. He says he loves his 8, loves his Mazda dealership and his wife is going to get one. Cool stuff... Wow then a CAA truck pulls up and tells me to move my *** up so he can get in and rescue the Red..
40 minutes is what it took ... He tells me his name is Darren.. I say do you have a pen... I also say did you hit anything..when did you know etc. He says he thinks it may have started been flat in Scarborough ... but like Dan said.. the stock tires ( oh yea they were our stock tire - parks it for the winter ) the tire can be driven on for 100km.. he felt something in the steering just at the 401/407 and pulled over.
Anyway .. I asked Red where the truck was taking him and he said Brantford..
Gave him our address ... Hope like hell he comes on and tells us his story..
Oh yea came home and dug up the Mazda Roadside Assistance Program Stuff...
1 877 41MAZDA
1 877 4162932
Putting that stuff into the glove box and number into the cell..
Still have not filled out all those Mazda questionaires they sent me 9 months ago..
I'll fill them in after one year's experience and the rose coloured glasses turn Titanium ... So far so good ...
Oh yea .. My parting words to Darren were .. Mic ... Mic Jagger

WOW Mic! thats quite the story! Very Impressive considering that we were just talking about it in Belleville on the weekend.Times like that, I bet our red friend over there had one of those roof mounted tire kits:D I guess that Dan was right about the 100 km limit on the stock tirse (not that we were doubting him). Mic, Only would this happed to you! Im just surprised that it wasent a femal and you did not end up at a restrant with her in the end. Better luck next time big guy!
