Got my Rx8 today in Sunlight Silver!!!
All i got to say is that I am really DAMN LUCKY. To tell you guys the truth, it was when Gord's Post of how he picked up a Rx8 in Lethbridge that inspired me to call other dealers to see if they had any "extra" Rx8's that no one wanted. I forgot when Gord posted, but I started calling the next morning after his post.
THANK YOU GORD!!!!!!
My situation was that I put a deposit at an Edmonton dealership and was 7th in line, with the dealer telling me I probably had to wait like 4 months. So like Gord, I called every single dealer in Alberta. I found 1 Rx8 in Edmonton (Jarman Mazda) that was in Yellow that a buyer backed out on. The only problem was that the sales lady said the guy drove it for 2 hours and racked up a whole bunch of km's on it and they were also adding $5000 in accessories. So basically I said forget it and would try my luck in British Columbia.
The first call was the lucky one!! I called a dealer (just for fun to see if they have a car that nobody wanted) and he says am i serious about buying. I said yep i am and he says I will call you back in 10 minutes. All I told him was that the car had to be 6 speed. 10 min. later he tells me to come down and that he had a sunlight silver in 6 speed that he had buyers waiting on and it was a first come first serve basis. I went to the dealers, saw the silver and LOVED IT!!! The car had only 4 kms on it and basically said I wanted it, got the Finance approved, and am picking up the car tommorow as they have to apply some sort of special coating(the dealer added 2000 bux worth of dealer junk that I had to get). I am gonna be one happy guy tommorow around noon time when I pick it up.
All i gotta say is thanks to all the guys on this board in convincing me to get the Rx8, and thanks to Gord for inspiring me to call around or else I wouldnt have found the car! Will for sure get my friends digi camera and post picks!!!

Congrats Mango. I did the same thing although it was a couple of months ago. There were none available in my area with options I wanted so I started calling all of the dealers in Ontario. Was very fortunate with Mazda of Brampton. I bought mine sight unseen at the time with no strings attached on financing or trade-ins. It was a clean deal, and know I'm a very very happy RX-8 er.

LiquidLam:
I got my 8 at Morrey Mazda in the North Shore. The salesman told me I arrived 20 min. earlier then the next potential buyer hehe :D
At Wolfe Mazda they had the auto Tit. Gray yes, it was a beautiful color, you cant go wrong with that color. I do believe it was fully loaded as well, with moonroof and everything, but the dealer said they were still all spoken for. Give them a call tho and say you are willing to buy asap!!! You never know!:D

Hehe picked up the car this morning, had 8 km on it. Just came back home tonight, it has 125 km lol. All i gotta say is, this car is fun. In comparison to the NSX, the NSX seems to have way more pick up than the 8, but the shifting in the Rx8 is smooooth like butter.
