ON Is this a good sounding engine?

I look at an rx8 today. 83k original kms, paper works for new plugs and coils, fuel pump and battery. However I cannot do a compression test as the car is not insured and has been sitting in a heated garage. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XSL...ew?usp=sharing .The cons are front fender rust, and radio/heating not working. He wants $2700. Thoughts?

We can't conclude anything from 5 seconds of poor audio. It doesn't sound broken, but it also sounds like it was just turned on, the air pump is running, so we're not dealing with a warmed up idling engine.

No compression test means it's either it's a $2700 RX8, or a $8700 RX8 once you've bought it a new engine. It's your chance to take.
The seller can figure out how to get a compression tester into the garage, or the car to a compression tester.

Also does that mean no test-drive? Literally nobody would advise you buy an RX8 without a test-drive. The seller can figure out how to make that happen.

Sorry for the poor audio clip, I did test drive the car for a bit on side roads. The car starts hot and cold on first crank. Thanks for the advice
