Going price for RX-8 GT in Toronto?

Hello,
I'm wondering what's the going price for an 2005 RX-8 GT in the GTA? I'm not sure there are any deals going on. The financing rates sure are low! Any good Mazda dealership to deal with?

thanks!

Brother... you don't like the search button eh? Anyhoo, there was a discussion of this YESTERDAY right here in our Canada forum.

I'll refer you to this thread that should answer pretty much all your questions. There are more threads but this one will give you most of the info you need. Heck I even included my INVOICE.

Despite dealing with 2005, you should be able to get roughly the same price as we did.

Good luck!

pricing

When I purchased my 8 last year, in March I got it for $41500.00 with roof and Nav. Yes it was brand new. The dealer I was at I have purchased over 8 cars from them since I began driving. I did not even ask for the discount, he just gave it to me.

I dealt with Lallo Motors in Brantford, and the owners son Gary. If you are in the area and see what he can do for you. If you are talking 2005 year, should be able to do the same deal. I know that with my discounts if I bought the car now as rates are better, I would be saving about $40.00/month lease. They are a very good dealer

Depending where you are from, make the drive if you are serious.

Hmmm maybe I will throw in a few cents worth seeing as I have some familiarity with both cars . . . I think these cars are in radically different target markets. Make sure you go for some serious test drives, i.e. were you can really rev the engines and take some nice corners. I assume that this is a new turbo Legacy? My experience is that red line comes way too fast in the WRX and its not a smooth driver like the RX-8, I assume we are talking about the same power plant. The power band in my NA Legacy Outback is just weird. It launches quickly then soon runs out of steam, then it just makes a lot of noise like a float plane to compensate for power :-) Also check the feel of the steering, my car has like 50 turns lock to lock, that does not add up to precise or fun handling (I think they were fixing this in some new models). The seating position relative to the dash and steering column is also funky for anyone over about 5'8", my knees are brushing up against stuff. For AWD performance I would personally pick Audi over Subaru any day. I have an ancient Audi as the winter car and I simply prefer the drivability of its in-line 5 engine the over the boxer even with less hp . . . Don't get me wrong, Subaru makes some very reliable, reasonably well built and affordable to maintain cars but they don't inspire me much in the sports car realm like the 8 does . . . Now if you plan on winter driving the car then there are more issues to weigh. Just make sure you test drive both, they will be radically different even with changes/improvements to the new legacy platform . . . BTW make sure you also sit in the back of the Legacy GT, I had checked out the previous model when I bought the Outback and it was really short on headroom, the 8 definitely has more.

I saw an ad in last Sat's Toronto Stars in the Wheels section that you can now get 0% financing for 36 months on the RX-8. That's a really really good deal compared to the deals they were offering last year.

yeah. the financing rate for 48mths is 2.9%. very good. I like the rx-8 package. The only things that are holding me back over the Legacy GT are:
- tuneability
- maintenance once warranty is over
- gas mileage
- lack or torque

i've test driven the LGT a few times and was thoroughly impressed with the entire package. Worlds better than the WRX. Alot of oomph down-low. Refined and classy while the rx-8 is more on the sporty side. THe exterior looks of the legacy while an improvemet over the previous gen it is not a looker compared to the 8 and does not generate that driving passion. I guess it would be a good sleeper car.
think i need a thorough test drive with the 8 come May!
