Scott I can help you out with all but the Clutch and Flywheel, that stuff is a little more tool intensive.

Do you have a complete set of pulleys or just the crank pulley? When I did mine I had a real bitch of a time with the Alternator pulley. Actually had to take it to a shop to get the nut off.

Gecko69 05-11-2008 07:03 AM

I have a track day sunday night.....Monday works for me. turbo...you can pick up the mazspot mod then aswell.......I guess I will have to find something else to install on my car though?

prospectjtaz 05-11-2008 07:34 AM

another gauge gecko?

Awesome, thanks. To answer your question, I've just ordered the Agency Power Under driven Crank Pulley (Gecko recommendation).

Turbo8, you going? Give me a shout in MSN.

Footman 05-12-2008 07:57 AM

MS exhaust to install that is all.

Tools required:
jack stands, wheel chocks (big rock will do)
torque wrench
WD40
socket set
industrial sheers or cutters (to cut exhaust tip plastic bumper part)

Weekend of May 24 is good.

prospectjtaz 05-12-2008 08:12 AM

what happened to your trip?

Footman 05-12-2008 08:29 AM

My trip is May 15 - 20.

Weekend of May 24 is good.

What the heck are you talking about? What are the torque wrench and cutters for? You're going to cut your bumper?

Add a big screw driver in your list to pry at the hanger bushings.

Footman 05-12-2008 09:26 AM

The MS exhaust installation instructions call for 3 different torques on 3 sets of bolts. It also says to trim a 1" section off the inside portion of the exhaust tip bumper plastic.

qtwre 05-12-2008 10:18 AM

Instructions inshmuckshions. Torque settings = pretty damn tight with arm strength.

Pop out the plastic bumper pieces as the first thing you do, then uninstall the old one and put in the new one. I didn't have to cut anything with the greddy. Hopefully the MS is the same.

Gecko69 05-12-2008 10:34 AM

qtwre you are right....there really is no need to cut anything Andrew...and good luck getting a torque wrench under there......as tight as you can get them will do the trick.

Footman 05-12-2008 10:57 AM

I think the MS instructions want us to cut the 1" trim off the piece just in case it gets too hot and the plastic piece is too close, it will start melting the plastic. With the car up on a jack stands, can't I use a torque wrench?

Or perhaps a lift?

Neo 05-12-2008 11:13 AM

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but it turns out the long weekend is this weekend coming up.

Victoria day is the 19th.

So are we meeting up this weekend still? Or Monday I should say?

there are only 3 bolts that need to be tightened....the 2 spring loaded ones that attach to your midpipe and the one that secures the muffler to the short pipe of the MS exhaust. Honestly, you will have a hard time getting the torque wrench in there.....on a lift its much much easier but in jays driveway...may be an issue. Also, when you install the exhaust you need to align the tips before tightening down the middle bolt that attatches the 2 peices together......when I had mine breifly.....there was a solid inch of space all the way around the tips........the only other thing I could see is they want you to cut the inside of the exhaust shroud to make a little more space.....but you wont see that anyways....your call boss.

yeah I know, that's why I said i'm gone that week, and I asked if you guys can wait next week. and then here the thread GI meet is May 24, which is the week after =)

Thief 05-12-2008 11:56 AM

Either way I'm good for a Monday. I was thinking the coming week since that's when the long weekend is, but either or is fine with me.

Neo 05-12-2008 12:50 PM

Ok. Just wanted to know, that's all.

Pros,

Hook a brother up with those parts already! :)

Gecko69 05-12-2008 01:20 PM

so its the 26th right??

Footman 05-12-2008 01:25 PM

26th is a Monday.

This is 24th Saturday.

rx8thunder 05-12-2008 02:04 PM

Hmm... which weekend are we talking about Jay? I thought it was this weekend but I'm ok, either way. Just anxious to get stuff put on the car

Footman 05-12-2008 02:11 PM

thread title is May 24th?

Thief 05-12-2008 02:26 PM

I think what he meant was May TWO FOUR weekend, which in most years, the Victoria Day weekend lands near the 24th. This year though, because May has 5 weeks, the third week (17 - 19) and hence May two four is earlier..... And I have a 3 paycheque month :D

Footman 05-12-2008 02:35 PM

I have a 3 paycheque month too!! BOOYAKASHA!!!

Gecko69 05-12-2008 02:45 PM

no I know the thread title is the 24th...but everyone is saying they are available on monday...which would be the 26th.....or was everyone talking about the 19th? If its the 24th I'm out. I have to go to a wedding in Ottawa. I guess it will ultimately be up to Jay as its his house.

Neo 05-12-2008 03:50 PM

I was getting confused with the whole long weekend.
But as it turns out, it's this weekend.

The install will occur next weekend on the Sat. Which I'm good for.

I hope I'll have somethings to install. :)

Let's stop using "weekend"... use precise dates.

The install shall be on Saturday May 17 or Monday May 19 (Victoria day). Is this correct?

Neo 05-12-2008 07:43 PM

So many dates...

It'll have to be on a Sat. I don't think I'll be able to do anything on the Mon. I might have to go into work. :(

prospectjtaz 05-12-2008 08:26 PM

LoL, wow, so many posts when I was away. Alright I meant May 24 weekend as in the 24 Weekend, holiday weekend, which in this case is the upcoming weekend. I was gauging interest to see who was available for Monday, if too many people had plans, to leave the city or somehting else, we would plan for another day. I figure we do installs on the Monday and then hit up a local pub here by my place for food, maybe the whiskey later on for entertainment and drinks if anyone is up for it.

So who can do the Monday May 19th, LONG WEEKEND Monday.

And who perfers the weekend after, which in this case would be either a Saturday or a Sunday.

Sorry for all the confusion guys.

prospectjtaz 05-12-2008 08:36 PM

Guys I wanna have an awesome meet, so I will work to make sure everyone come out here. Ideally, I wanna see Gecko, Neo, Footman, Darkbrew, qwtre, wcs, rx8thunder, theif, agent008, proficientone, turboeight, r888 and anyone else at my place for an install meet. Really? I thought they were only available in either 9" or 10" width? I've never seen them offered in 9.5".

prospectjtaz 05-12-2008 09:03 PM

i dont kno, thats what he said maybe a type o, of course i will check wheels out before i buy.

Thief 05-12-2008 09:53 PM

I prefer Monday the 19th, but Sunday the 25th is also fine.

Gecko69 05-13-2008 06:57 AM

I work nights on the 19th....but I can see if I can get it covered....the 25th I will be coming back from Ottawa an have a track day that night......I haven't officially signed up for it yet.....so depending on when everyone is meeting I might be able to go.....just a lot of driving for one day........anyways, I'll see what I can do.
