Frost on INSIDE of windshield?

I live in Ottawa and have no garage so my car is left on the driveway or street. I've noticed a few times (when it's been really cold) that I've got a lot of frost on the INSIDE of the windshield (2005 RX8) after it hasn't been driven for a while. I've got 2 other vehicles (a PTCruiser and old minivan) and neither of them have that problem in the same weather.

Does anyone have a similar problem and/or know the root cause, or suggestions as to how to prevent it?

I seem to remember having some old beaters that had bad window/door seals that had a similar problem so I'm wondering if it has to do with a broken seal somewhere.

Thx, ..Roger

My 04 sits outside all the time but I haven't had this problem, even when it has gotten very cold. I agree with you though. I have experienced the problem in other vehicles. We drive ours daily but I'm not sure that that affects things or not.

You cant avoid that if you park the car outside for a long time in extreme cold, its the moisture trapped inside the car. I wouldnt worry about things broken, its normal.

maybe turn the AC on to dehumidify and not exhale for a few mins before you shut the car off... hahaha...

^ Yup, A/C makes a world of difference in dehumidifying the cabin while you drive.

I used to live in Ottawa, and needed the A/C+heat on in my old car because it was parked outside. Loved those -40 mornings.
