I honestly stayed away from a sunlight silver because of that rumor.
Though, it kinda looks like a Ti-Gray to me. I don't know, it's a blurry picture with horrible lighting.

Its a sunlight silveR. Callme prejudice but I have a feeling the owner is the 21 year old his friend is 24. The 21 year old buys the car usedcause they are cheap now. Goes out on a nice day with all season tires. Tries to show off car to friend. Loses control and dies...

Just feel bad that a lot of these cars are now ending up in hands of idiots and ex-ricers due to their price. They have no appreciation of the car and its value and place in automotive history.

I wouldn't say young drivers. I've had my 8 since I was 18, I'm 21 next week, never even had a speeding ticket.

Yeah, same here... except i'm already 21. You should use the term mature driver versus people who make bad decisions lol. oh well, despite everything, I would keep my rx8 as long as i can.

Shi*. That was just outside of my house. Is not like there isn't enough speed trap already. Good it wasn't any for the RX8 I know in the area so probably wasn't from the forum.

Sorry i didnt mean ALL young drivers. I have owned my 8 since i was 18 as well. Worked my butt off for it. However, majority of spoiled kids these days who get their 8 through mommy and daddy like to do stupid things. Street racing and showing off is one of them which ends up like the 2 guys in the article. Not saying thats what happened but most probably..

Age or type of car has nothing to do with stupidity behind the wheel. Years ago in Toronto some took a Porsche 911 Turbo at Avenue Rd and the 401, missed at a very high rate of speed and killed both himself and wife/gf. I think he was same age as i am now (48). The biggest piece of the left car was no bigger than the door. People make poor choices all the time driving, unfortunately some pay with their lives..................

Try telling that first line to the insurance company. They won't agree.

Unfortunately your right Footman. The person I passed on the 407 this morning in a Lexus GS350 doing 60KMH in the 3rd of 4 lanes from the left side of the road will never get a ticket etc. What he/she was doing is far worse to me than street racing etc, as someone who swerves to get from behind them or someone who pulls out from behind them into a car doing regular highway speeds will be the one charged. The level of incompitance on our highways and roads never ceases to amaze me.

Obviously, rates skewed because of the much higher probability of racing as age goes down.

and "police say speed may have been a factor" ... it's a damn RX8 on it's side ... yes speed was a factor. It's a shame the loss of life hopefully it will encourage others to keep it to the track as thank god they didn't take someones family with them who were innocently in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Before anyone flames me I totally admit to driving like an utter fool in the past ... and am thankfull I did not take myself, someone I knew or a total stranger/s out ...
