If nothing has been heard from Kafka concerning the "morning half activity meet at Scarboro Mazda" by Wednesday Oct 8, then the start location will be changed drastically.

The route map, times, schedule shall be released on Sunday Oct 12.

Kafka 10-06-2008 01:11 PM

I am working with Al on the logistics...gimme today and tomorrow. thanks.

Kafka 10-09-2008 02:09 PM

Not enough interest and number of cars so...no go.

Footman 10-09-2008 02:14 PM

Alright, then the cruise route has been changed. Stay tooned for meet points and route map.

Footman 10-12-2008 05:09 PM

Just to point out, in post #1 you said 3/4 of a tank of gas ($40). Umm... 3/4 of a tank is 45L. Gas isn't $0.90/L right now.

Sanguine 10-13-2008 10:49 AM

I was the one that gave him the $40 guess. As it turns out the whole route for him is ~330 kms if he met up with us at Location B (Vaughan) which is 50 more then my guess before the route was finalized. I guessed at the approximate location of the centre of Guelph so that could be +/- 10km depending if he lives on the close or far side of the city.

Guelph University -> Vaughan 80km +/-10
Route Part A 143km
Route Part B 72km
Georgetown -> Guelph Uni. 40km +/-10

If my math is right that 335 +/-20. My car over the last two months has averaged 11.2 L/100km or 21 mpg with mixed hwy and city driving and I drive rather enthusiastically. Guessing using my mileage and his distance it's about 37-39 litres . Anyway, yeah my original guess of off by a lot, probably pushing $50 plus his dinner and a fraction of the dinner of whoever craves the meanest pumpkin.

Your guesstimate was perfect man. I wouldnt expect you to be exact, especially when you didnt have the route exactly. So I guess it would be wise to fill up when i get to vauhgan, just in case...i dont wanna be worrying about gas during the cruise.

There's no more pumpkin carving due to unpopularity with most people here... I would like to carve one though. I think 9291150 is bringing his son. maybe I'll help him design and carve. We maybe doing it at the stop over road side on "The Grange Side Road"... depends if you wanna bring a pumpkin or not .You're welcome to bring one, but a lot of people don't want to.

Footman 10-13-2008 12:52 PM

The route is 232km from meet point #1 to finish at Barber Towne Pub. I got that distance from adding up part 1 and part 2 of the tour on google maps.

Coincidentally if you haven't noticed.. that distance is the same as our rated HP hehehehe

Thumper3322 10-13-2008 01:51 PM

LOL - go figure!! Good planning footman! Hope the weather is like it was this weekend!

I'm not to into the pumpkin carving and a pumpkin smashing around in my truck. If everyone was gonna do it then ok, but since most ppl don't want to then na. Sorry man it was a good thought being Halloween and all!

How was the meet on Friday night anyhow? So funny you saw me in your truck.

Footman 10-13-2008 02:00 PM

I know eh.. that day was strange. .I had 2 of my coworkers with me. On the way to Kingston in the morning, we saw my coworker's mom on the 401 heading to Ottawa. Then on the way back, we saw the other coworkers sister heading back to Toronto. Then I saw you going to the Casino....

What are the chances eh? and I thought the 401 was big...

I didn't get back to office until 9pm that day. Some major accident on 401 near keele slowed everything down. Ruined Friday night.

Thumper3322 10-13-2008 02:20 PM

That's funny and ya kinda weird.

Ya that accident sucked ass!! I was stuck in it for awhile :(

rotarygreg 10-16-2008 09:20 PM

Bump, just to remind everyone

Rotary Mike 10-17-2008 07:33 AM

It's not going to be that warm so dress right since there will be a good chunk of hanging around outside

Footman 10-17-2008 08:02 AM

Are you guys happy with the planning? I haven't received much feedback :( I don't know if this is what you guys are looking for or not? I'm trying to cater.

Neo 10-17-2008 08:08 AM

This is a great cruise. We'll be able to see the scenery. I think it's going to be a great time just cruising around.

It looks great to me. Want me to start a poll to gain some feedback on your planning abilities?

Footman 10-17-2008 08:26 AM

ahahaha nononono thanks that's okay... I'm not that important :)

prospectjtaz 10-17-2008 10:08 AM

Do you plan on leaving as soon as you hit La Paloma? No way its gonna take half hour to get there using Hwy 7.

If anyone wants to meet befor ethe Woodbine and Hwy 7 point, we could meet the Garden Basket Plaza Lot at 16th and Markham Road. This is realy aimed at Hoser, Thumper and Thief, since they are coming from the East Side. Let me know. Thumper all you do is take Westney or Whatever parallel road up to Hwy 7, follow it to Ninth Line, go up on Ninth, you'll hit 16th, and than we're be there at the next Intersection. Let me know guys.

Hoser, did you pick up Socom yet? PS3 ID is: Prospect_PS.
