Detroit autoshow?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if there was any interest in attending the show this year?

Does anyone remember the last time we went? There was even a pic of us at the front entrance...

So far, it's 2 of us. Who wants to join?

I remember last time we went there, the line up was pretty bad getting in. We parked at Windsor and took a bus across the border, it was packed!

Yeah man, I remember. It's always busy for the show. Although it has subsided a bit since the show kinda went down the toilet when GM and Chrysler went under.

We do like we did before. It seems like the less stressful thing to do. We won't have to worry about parking, and we'll be able to catch a bus out of there when we're done.

So, Footman's in. Hevnsnt and I are the other 2 going.

Anyone else interested?

Let me know when you guys are coming down. I usually go to the Autorama nowadays but I'm always game. BTW, I know most parking places in the D.

It was actually a picture of me that was taken at the unveiling of the rx8 that really made me buy one two years ago. I was in the hunt for a car, then I was looking at pics with my gf, then there was one with me sitting in a bb pointing to a red one in a brochure with a huge smile on my face. That did it. Told the gf I know what I want/

Alright, so we'll do it on the weekend of the 22nd.
We can either convoy over, or we can see who's got the biggest beater and car pool over there.

I think I might could make it. If so, I can fit 4 friends in my wife's car, versus 3 in the RX-8.

Maybe a make a windsor rx8 meet with some outsiders other than Hiflight from Lansing?
I believe it's called "southern hospitality". Hit up a chinese restaurant or Basil court or something? I have a santa-fe that can fit 4 comfortably, and a loud rx8 that fits four.
what weekend are you guys coming down?

This sounds great. We can rendezvous with others at a convienent spot so we can carpool over.

We're aiming for the weekend of the 22nd.

So do we see 5 people now? Or is there less?

Count me in. I could fit 6 in my Ram, unless my wife ends up using it to move offices (50% chance right now), then I'll take her new car - a 128i Cab, but it'll only fit two comfortably for that long a drive. So maybe a lift from a rendezvous point and share gas?

I think it's good idea. We all drive to 9291150's house, park our cars there, and then hop into his comfy RAM truck. Then we split the gas money.

Also, we are ordering tickets through the website, correct? It would save us the hassle of standing in line to pay for tickets. Just pick them up and go.

No prob, I'm <10 minutes north of the 401 at the Trafalgar exit, can fit 4-6 cars on my driveway and a whole bunch in front of the house.

Only unknown is Mrs. 9291150 might need the truck, won't know 'till this Saturday.

What is it - 4:30 hrs. to get there? ...Rui

The weekend of the 22nd.
Most of us are booked for next weekend. So it'll be the last weekend of the show.

9291150,

Sounds great! Give the Mrs. a heads up, and I'm sure we'll be able to get ourselves accomodated.

And the tickets? We're ordering on the web? Save's us hassle.
