American Idol is not our fault. I'm pointing fingers over the Atlantic for that atrocity, but you have to admit that over the first couple of weeks that program really shines.

 

What? Sorry, I thought you said that American Idol really shines. You're talking about the television show, right?

 

Yeah, the first couple of weeks is when they weed out the sinfully awful tonedeaf rejects. It really is a delight to watch them embarass themselves. I don't care for the judges, and couldn't tell you anything about the rest of the show, but the lack of singing talent displayed by the rejects is truly awe-inspiring. It's definitely worth a watch.

What makes American Idol interesting at this qulifying stage is that people who can't sing whatsoever scrape up every dime to get to the audition, wait several hours/days to audition, get laughed at and then they have no money to get back home? Its sad but ridiculously funny all at the same time. Last night a girl sold her wedding ring(s) to a pawn shop instead of her Karaoke machine in order to get to washington with her husband and daughter. They had no money to get back home if she didn't make it !!!! Thank God she qualified for ther next round.

Oh well, its cold and snowy in Toronto and my wife and kids watch the show so I have no choice but to watch it as well! Its actually funny
