Upcoming track days with other groups:

May 24 Shannonville Long and Pro track, $160.00 9am -5pm no groups or limits to how long you can be on the track, no helmet required www.imagemotorsport.com

May 24 Grand Prix track at Mosport I believe the price is $350.00 9am -5pm, you must be there at 8:15 to register, 2-3 different run groups, must have helmet. Each group is either 20 or 30 minutes per session. Done by Kensai Racing

 

Okay I'm going to be out from this until my 8 gets fixed up, bringing it in to Scarb Mazda tomorrow to check it out, but I'm getting rattling sounds when I'm revving past 4k under load. Anyone have an idea what this might be caused by? It's not there all the time, but when i'm accelerating a bit harder, then the sound comes up.

Yeah, I'd like to go track, but my money has to go elsewhere this year...

 

i think we should all donate some money to andrew so he can get some track time. or next time we all get together and rent the track im fine with letting him come for free as long as he's the one that organizes it lol.

 

^I'm the one that lost his job and I'm still going to try to make it to at least one this year.

 

Sorry to hear that Thumper, albeit I lost my job last year and still goes a few times in 2009 though heh :P

The economy is getting better, should not be a long wait this time hopefully...well before the asset bubble burst!

I will be out of comission until June...Aiming for one / month in the summer hopefully. Its an expensive hobby afterall!

I'll come if its later in june or july cause I got no money right now. My tires are dangerously ****, so much so that comming out of plazas cause wheelspin. I found 2 summer jobs though so if things go well, i should have the money in a month or so.

 

wow i hadn't realized such tough times among us. i had noticed organized track events have been certainly slow compared to recent yrs. best of luck to everyone and hopefully it will pick up soon.

 

Wow, did not realize it was this bad out there, I thought it was just the printing industry as we recently got a 10% pay cut and had to start paying half our benefits at work. At work we are the busiest we ever been but we don't seem to make money, I call this the Walmart Effect, low price so lots of demand. Hope everyone soon see the upturn in the economy. This really sucks!

 

I would come on a friday afternoon depending on price, and time, i am off work by 2 on fridays.

 

Hello !! I am moving out of TO by the end of June...And getting a lots closer to Shannonville race track...)) I may just jump-in with the group too...But money is very rare now since I bought myself a house !?!$$$

 

Bump for a really poor showing, 8, 8's. If we can't get 4 more 8's this will go the way of the dodo bird. It's been a week and this is the best we as group of 100 in the GTA and surrounding area can do? As for a date how about Friday July 23rd, 2010. As for pricing here's the numbers Fabi/Nelson for two hour on a Friday afternoon/evening is $350 per hour x 2 = $650+GST $32.50 = 682.5 divide by 12 = 56.875 Let's Call it $57. If we don't book before July 1st I believe the price will go up 8% due to the HST Tax. Shame, where is that ZOOM ZOOM spirit that other Mazda Clubs seem to have! Flame me if you wish, I have big shoulders. For the others who signed up, thank you, and hope your good for the date

For sure, as long as we get 12, not worth it with less. 2 hours for $57. Would prefer the Pro Track but double the money and many of us RX-8 owners are cheap buggers. It's not possible with our numbers, were just not getting enough interest. I'll give it a bit more time and keep an eye on the track calendar. Hopefully the date stays open and give ppl's time to consider coming.

 

That's so far away I was hoping more June sometime.

 

Talked to a buddy and he's willing to come out as well.

what time would we be hitting the track, i probably couldnt make it till almost 7, seeing as how i am 3 + hours away

 

Fabi the longer of the short tracks is available June 11th and is the only date in June. Cool with me if everyone on the list will go for it, but we'll have to act fast. Thumper pm all concerned and it will be a go.
