Wow ... how many people did you have at your meet there? It looked to me like there was two rows of 8's.

How did you take the 1st picture from high up? Did they let you on the roof or something? (or was there a patio there that I didn't notice).

I found what I assume was a fire escape stairway. No patio just stairs that led to the roof.

Posted this earlier to rx7club.com:

That was just phenomenal. I am in awe of how things came together today.

I don't know if anyone got a firm head count (I didn't) but the Ottawa Meet may no longer be the Big meet.

First off, a big huge round of e-applause for Lawyer's Spirit for spearheading the cause and sticking it out despite the difficulties he encountered (some of which most are unaware of.) Today's meet and the meeting that followed is something that has been long overdue in our community, and my hat is off to him for being a motivator and a rallying point for all of us.

My thanks and admiration also go out to all who came out, despite unfavourable weather, and for some, unfavourable schedules. Just your attendance stands as a vote of confidence and assurance that this Club is something worth creating and fostering. Creating for all of us to benefit from.

Recap for those who missed it

After enduring the cold parking lot (some were out there for over an hour) we went into Sam & Pete's to get setttled and start our meet(ing.) Despite an unco-operative PA system, Lawyer's Spirit was able to address everyone, thank them for coming and then call for a show of hands from those interested in taking active roles in the club. It was very pleasing to see over a dozen hands go up.

We moved into a lounge area around the corner. At times, it was hard to hear one another over the main group (and you thought our cars were loud ) but we were able to discuss quite a bit and share ideas about how to create an RX Club. Those discussions will be continued.

I'm not going to go into detail right now - not to be secretive, but rather b/c I've got too much to do tonight b4 I crash. I will say this:

- there will be a web page for the club. Initially, it will be used to post news, announcements and contact information. This will be expanded upon once we get our feet under ourselves.

- the Club will work to ensure that there will be at least one big meet each month between now and September.

Those of us who met separately still have to get all of our newly collected information sorted out and establish what our respective roles are. We'll be doing this through email and the like for expediency, and will have a formal announcement shortly if all goes well (and I'm certain that it will.) Our volunteers are enthusiastic and smart people. It won't take long for them get their acts together and co-ordinate their planning.

Thank you all for coming out! Hopefully, Davide's photographs (our new friend with the Howitzer-sized camera) posted soon.

Definately a very motivating turn out. We even had three 7 owners come down from Ottawa. I look forward to the fast approaching patio weather for future meets.

Glad that I got to see the new faces and some familar ones. Great photos guys! Amur, thanks for posting the write up from the 7 board (BTW I guess you're the unoffical writer for now :D ) Does David post here on the 8 board? I would love to see them wicked shots he took and exchange some geeky Star Wars tales of great finds and what nots

I'm terrible with names so let me first applogize for not remember everyones right off the bat. So with that said let us post here who came and perhaps a tibit of the meet they found interesting.

So I had lunch with a first timer (um, I forgot you name , like I said I suck with names, but I'm working on it.) who also brought a friend to entice him to pick up an 8 (he drives a mustang right now.) Afterwards we met up with Damon and drove up to the meet...mostly at the speed limit

I couldn't beleive how many of us turned out. Awesome show people. Yay us!!!

Neo, the first time I came on time, you don't If it rains at the next meet, just wrap your 7 in plastic and drive her over. I would love to hear ya coming

BTW if anyone of you guys want to get emblems, either custom or premade ones, pm your emails and I'll contact the fella I dealt with to give you all the discount that he promised us.

Hellbreed, great to meet you man. BTW I'm an idiot, I use Photoshop 5.5 (8? I must had our cars on the brain )

Alan, it was great seeing you again. I wanted to say goodbye, butyou left before i could find ya. Good luck on the books and their launch. I'm sure that the 8er and 7ers would love to hear what you've been drumming up.

Mic...Mic...Mic, women should be warned of your seducing charm. I was great to meet a fellow paddler

One of the dangers of bringing pen & pencil to a meet.

Does David post here on the 8 board?
He has only just found us and has not yet created a handle for himself. Soon...

I use Photoshop 5.5
My gawd! Tell me you at least have running water in your home!

Oh yeah , we have running water--it's called rain

Yeah Photoshop 5.5 sucks **** as it's never saves what you want it too. No $ to upgrade, as I don't charge a lot for my graphic work...which I would love to do more of...anyone need something done? :D (Yes it's yet an other shamless plug of my dirty work ) .

Awesome turnout everyone! This is the start of something great and I am looking forward to see where it takes us. What a great sight to see all the RX-8's and RX-7's rolling in little grouped convoys.

Great Pics so far....looking forward to the others.

Dear Mods: wha' happened to Mic's Sex, Drugs etc. thread or has it been absorbed by another? Invalid Thread. I posted pics and notes of thanks late last night. Now, like Kaiser Soze, puff, it's gone.

Let me tell you the trip there and back was filled with excitement, from wiper blades flying off and me having to run back 300m + in the rain to get it, to trying to find Jay and his TTFC in oshawa to running 60km on empty on the 416 with not a gas station in sight :D. Definatly do it again next yea just hopefully rx_prex, FC3S.USD and myself will have our RX-7's out next year by this time.
