Hi everyone, there are 2 lapping days on Aug 1st, one at Mosport (Big track) and one at Shannonville pro and long track. Mosport is going to be about $400.00 Shannonville is about $160.00. Anyone interested in going to either one? We need some test time with the race car and will be going to one of them.

 

I will take that for a no lol We are going to Shannonville.

 

I would love to go to Shannonville ones....160 all day just like last few seasons?

 

Al, you should know better by now, the new crew just want to take pictures in parking lots and drink coffee! Just another dig! oh ya, and it cost money!

Not everyone has a ton of money and time like you do. For that, I congratulate you on living the life you want. I, too, wish I had a lot more money and time so I could track every weekend...

 

Yes Josh $160.00 for the day and open lapping all day. We will probably go from about 9-1 then leave to avoid most of the traffic. While I recognize lapping isnt cheap $160.00 is cheaper than a round of golf with a cart at some of the golf courses in Toronto area and for me its a lot more fun. A few years ago we had all kinds of guys wanting to do track stuff and now some have gone away and others seem to have lost interest in it. I would much rather do an open lapping day than a Time Attack on the DDT, Shannonville is a much better track and you learn how to pass and how to be passed.

rx-8druggist we are going to Shannonville, the entry is $160.00 and the track time is opne and unlimited you can run all day without stopping if you desire We are going so I can get used to driving the car again and to do some basic set up testing and for that we need time. We will happily help and instruct with any RX-8 people that come out.

The guys doing the Aug 1st Mosport day are a great bunch I have run with them many times and they put on a great day. For us however we need an open track that we can stop for 10 minutes make adjustment and go back out etc, most lapping at Mosport doesnt allow for that they are usually timed sessions.

 

If I don't have to help my gf move that day I will consider it.

Also depends on how much of my tires are left after the SRTA

 

Al, if you can swing me a half day at shannonville, even I can't afford two full track days in a week, as I'm at Sigma TT on the 24th during the ALMS weekend and a full day cost me about $200 in petrol with 20 min on 20 off. PM if you can pull it off.

Sorry Rick one thing about the guy putting on the day..............no discounts lol You play you gotta pay, he even charges double if there are 2 drivers on one car!

 

Well, If he does not cover his track rental maybe he'll reconsider. Can't say I did not try, but now a days track days seem to sell out. Thanks anyway.

 

I sooooo want to go to one of these .... this tuning process is killing me.
Not being able to work on the car till the weekends really slows things down.

Thank you for letting taking your car around the block after the alignment today......God I miss fun cars. Everytime I drive an 8 all I think about is.........imagine if these had 20B's in them!

Yes you can pay at the track. I have arranged for them to use Pro-Track in the morning and switch to long track in the afternoon. If the weather is like it has been, even if it rains it will be short and dry out quickly, so we are going regardless.

 

Hey Al is this ImageMotorsports that is organizing this lapping event? I have a friend who is attending with them and asked me to join - told him I may already be showing up with other rotards.

Ok sounds like we'll just pay at the track... I'll speak to maffu and c_ls and yeah guess we'll cya there Al ! (lol after this event I'm positive I'll have to ask you to order those hawk pads for me ...)

 

Yeah I'm being a bit cautious about this because my rotor glazing seems to have gotten worse and theres not a strong bite when i stamp the brakes.

Looks like this might be my last track event of the year.
