Attention Albertans! Where are your RalphBucks going?

Hey guys

Pretty excited today because I finally recieved my RalphBucks! 400 bones! My question to you guys is what are you putting your money towards. Hopefully it's RX8 related. Theoretically, I bought my new spoiler and rotor radio **** knowing that I'd be getting money from Ralph (purchases were made prior to getting the cheque), so I don't know if that counts.

But I am getting the Sinn 303 RX8 watch from Germany (enroute now) ... so I guess that's where money is going.

Let's hear what you guys are doing.

Arrow Bucks....

The Sinn is a great watch, but you'll need a lot more "RalphBucks" to pay for it!

^^^ You could buy a rotor **** for about $25, a lip spoiler for about ~200, clear corners for ~70-80, and still have some left over for gas!

well at least you have some good ideas there..Painting a loser silver -->VR could be worth more than $400 in "Fire and Spont Combustion" Insurance....Even just adding a little VR pinstripe could reduce your premiums you know

As for my $400 - I am giving it back to Ralp - he needs it.

well the VR paint job really looks like it would cost way less than $400...hehehe...but then you maybe right...the insurance company did say that even a red pinstripe would so devalue the replacement cost, that I'd certainly save on premiums.....

Me thinks the radio **** is a good idea...thanks Bluefrenzy...got the spoiler and corners already!!!!1

It's most likely going towards the windshield I cracked on my rental vehicle - which I'm using because the damn car is still not out of the shop yet....so, yeah, I'm having lots of fun.

I was rear-ended over the X-mas break.
It's been in the shop since the middle of December.
I've had to drive a rental vehicle all this time.

My Ralph bucks were going towards the supercharger and programmable ECU going on my Miata next month, but then I just noticed a big crack developing in the RX-8's windshield..

The usual online job sources are full of ads. Monster, etc. There's probably headhunters who specialize in engineering also (I started out here in 1981 as a mechanical engineering graduate working as a petroleum engineer, but I've been in IT since 1990, so I'm not up to date on engineering job resources).

The oil companies directly don't employ many Civils, but a LOT of the service industry will, for facilities construction. Outside the oil patch, there's a huge construction boom going on for housing and infrastructure, so it shouldn't be hard to find a good paying job!

Thanks Gord...

I will be looking more diligently in the next month or so. My parents live in Calgary (SW) and love it.

I guess any Consulting Engineering firm out there is going nuts these days, the usual Morrison Hershfield, SNC Lavalin, etc...

Hopefully we'll be there for the next round of 'Ralph bucks'. I'm really getting sick of the red province we live in today.

My RalphBucks are going back to the government in something called a pro-per-ty-tax.

Eh, I can live with the property taxes going up a bit. They're increasing far less than the property value - minimum 15% increase in value in the past year! We put about 15% down on the house we bought in Nov 04 - so we've doubled our investment in home equity in a year!
