Annual Detroit Autoshow Gathering

Every year a number of us go the Detroit Autoshow. This year's show is January 17-25. Some of us carpool down or meet at the show. It's a little early but just trying to get the ball rolling. Please indicate which date (wkend) is best for you.

I'm boycotting the Detroit one this year. Nissan won't be there, nor will Porsche... that show is going down hill, especially after what happened to the big 3 recently.

Then I guess you will be boycotting all the shows this year (lol) You will find a lot of manufacturers will be not attending this year, at least the exotics.

From what I understand, Rolls, Bentley and Porsche won't be at Toronto this year.

I'm sorry Hevnsnt, but as other people have pointed out, the show is going downhill. They say the biggest shows are going to be the cars coming from China/Korea?!?! That's unexceptable.
It goes to show you what kind of crisis the auto manufactures are in.
The only Marquee worth seeing this year is Audi.
I wouldn't travel all that way just to see Audi. I love the marquee and what they've accomplished, but I don't want to be making that kind of trek just to see the new Audi V10.
A number of other manufacturers are dropping out before the date.
I think this year would be a good one to give the Detroit show a rest.

Or we can get together for another reason other than the autoshow???

Ya, now that I think about it last years show was kinda lame except for the Furai. Oh well, we could always do the Toronto show. I want to play with my new DSLR camera.

But then, all I have to do is take a bus under the river.

Yeah exactly, that is why Detroit 2009 = FAIL... I'm going to the Toronto one instead to save hassle...

I could TTC that **** from Scarborough and be there in 1 hour and never have to worry about parking and ****.

Since I'm no longer in the market to get a new car anytime soon, I think I'll pass on the Toronto show.
The thing that really annoys me is they never let you in any of the cars here in Toronto. At least in Detroit you're able to sample almost all the vehicles. Regardless of price.
Here in Toronto they act like ****'s.
I have a better chance of seeing some of the more exotic stuff at Mosport than the autoshow.

Count me out.
