Hey, I'm looking for approximate costs of insurance/plates for different MY RX-8's in Calgary, as I will most likely be moving there from Saskatoon @ the end of summer, and need to figure out if I can continue to afford one when/if I move.
I would be 25 yrs old by the time I move, so I would be out of the "high risk" segment or w/e it's called being young.
The reason I'm looking for different model years is that I just sold my 8 (04 GT MT SS ) and am looking to buy a newer version if finances afford it. I am also in the lucky position of having a company vehicle so I don't actually need a car right now, so I can spend the next few months saving for a decent down payment on a 2010 VR r3 if affordable insurance wise.
One of the hard reasons to leave SK is that plates for the car are like $1100/yr, I'm assuming it'll cost more in Alberta :p

Imma take a stab at it and say you'd probably be paying around $180/mo, give or take 20. About $2000/yr. If I get it right you owe me... cake or something. Maybe pie. Banana cream.

I pay $230/mo, no offenses, age 23 so there should be no reason you'd have to pay more than that.
