BC After thirty days.

Well I have my first thirty days in as an RX8 owner and it certainly has been an eye opener. I bought a 2006 RX8 GT from the local Mazda dealership, it had 25000 km. on it when I took delivery. The price was reasonable and I negotiated a 3 year / 60k. bumper to bumper warranty.
No question the car is a heavy gas user and I would say I'm a fairly conservative driver but I knew that before I bought the car. Not so sure about the use of oil as they say it uses quite a bit, doesn't seem to be the case, I've put about 2500k. on the car since I got it and have checked the oil on a regular basis and it's only down slightly.
But as far as the car is concerned it's a marvelous machine, absolute pleasure to drive and great looking too. A beautiful metallic blue and a luxurious all black interior, heated leather seats, sunroof / moonroof, great sound system, all the bells and whistles I could ever ask for and as I've just received the owners manual I'm still catching up with all that I have.
Absolutely no shortage of performance ( at least for my own personal preference ) and yes I know I have given up some HP by having an automatic but who can't love those paddle shifters ?? just a great car indeed, only negative I really have is the dealership here in Kelowna where I bought my car, I have started to develop a lack of trust in them which really is too bad as I was looking forward to having a good relationship with them but hopefully some issues can be resolved.
By the way, I have no idea what a PCM Flash is ? but I was told to make sure that I had it in the car ? when I asked the service department about that it was " oh sure, that's in there " but they never checked anything ?

When people say to get your PCM flashed, it means to ensure that your car's computer software is up to date.

The latest one for Canadian models (we follow the US federal spec flash level) was the one released in MSP16 in 2008 January. I forgot the revision level, someone mentioned it earlier. To check what revision level you have, you can have the tech run the IDS report and print it out for you to see.
