accessories question (calgary)

Just curious, i spoke to someone about the "strakes" i believe they are called, that come out of the vents behind the front wheels. i called a local dealer and they are about $400.00 for the 4 of them. is there a place to get them custom or will i have to get them at the dealer for 400.00? As well, i heard there is a spare tire kit you can buy for the Rx-8 if you arent comfortable with the quick fix kit the car comes with. When i spoke to the dealer, they said there isnt one available? does anyone have a spare tire for their car?

Try a few of the online vendors on this site like rosenthal or corksport. With the CAD so high, it might be cheaper to buy in US dollar. But you'll get dinged at customs. There is def a spare tire kit available. The dealer should have it, if not, try another dealer or buy online. I personally don't like buying from the dealer for accessories. I'd much rather support the specialty shops.

www.rotary13b1.com mention that you're rx8club member, and show them your handle. It's $110 US shipped. They're aluminum with chrome plating. I ordered mine and received them in 1 week; installation is easy. Easier than the Mazda OEM ones.

I bought my color matched strakes after market for a little over $100. It would be a cold day in hell before I forked over $500 to a dealer to buy these and install them.

Hey, I ordered my strakes and front and rear rotary emblems from rotary13b1. Great price and I got them quick. Instaled them, no problem and they look great.
